The SPORE™ Collection includes:

- SPORE™
- SPORE™ Galactic Adventures
- SPORE™ Creepy & Cute Parts Pack

From Single Cell to Galactic God, evolve your creature in a universe of your own creations. Play through Spore's five evolutionary stages: Cell, Creature, Tribe, Civilization, and Space. Each stage has its own unique style, challenges, and goals. You can play how you choose — start in Cell and nurture one species from humble tidepool organism to intergalactic traveler, or jump straight in and build tribes or civilizations on new planets. What you do with your universe is up to you.

Spore gives you a variety of powerful yet easy-to-use creation tools so you can create every aspect of your universe: creatures, vehicles, buildings, and even starships. While Spore is a single-player game, your creations are automatically shared with other players providing a limitless number of worlds to explore and play.

  • CREATE Your Universe from Microscopic to Macrocosmic - From tide pool amoebas to thriving civilizations to intergalactic starships, everything is in your hands.
  • EVOLVE Your Creature through Five Stages - It's survival of the funnest as your choices reverberate through generations and ultimately decide the fate of your civilization.
  • EXPLORE Other Players' Galaxies - Will your creature rule the universe, or will your beloved planet be blasted to smithereens by a superior alien race?
  • SHARE with the World - Everything you make is shared with other players and vice versa, providing tons of cool creatures to meet and cool places to visit.

One of my favorites

I'm not really sure whiy this gem of a game is rated so poorly. If you forget the hype when it first came out, and come into it without expectations, this is actually a really engaging and engrossing game from start to end. What other game let's you literally grow from a single celled organism to a space-faring empire? Okay, a lot of the critisms are legitimate. It's hard to make whatever kind of creature you like because some body parts are simply better than other ones. People fail to mention though that before you reach Tribal you can change them to whatever you want for the rest of the game since most of the bonuses from body parts lose their function in the following stages. Yeah, it's not exactly perfect, but it also doesn't limit you like people say. Also, I find the Space stage to be the most fun! You can terraform your own planets and interact with alien races, and the galactic adventure pack adds plenty of extra play. Absolutely worth it, especially since Origin is still charging full price for these games separately *eyeroll*

An empty skeleton of a game...

You buy this game hoping to be the very lord and master of the evolution of species itself. But instead you get an loosely tied up bundle of 5 mini games that pretty much suck: First mini game) The cell stage. You play as an amoeba that eats meatballs and/or puke-green veggie balls until you're so fat and greasy that (somehow) your brain gets bigger and smarter, so you realise that you should pull yourself out of the primordial ooze mud-pond that is your microscopic neighbourhood. Second mini game) The creature stage. Now that you are out of the water and able to stretch your new and shiny legs and arms you are ready to beat the living crap out of the other species that also had the never to evolve just like you ! Third mini game) The tribe stage. Basically is the same game as the second, but now at tribe scale. You hunt for food, you practice your animal husbandry skills, practice your artistic strings with some crude instruments and then....you beat the living crap out of other tribes until you win. Fourth mini game) The civilisation stage. Again, the SAME as (2) and (3), but at INDUSTRIAL SCALE and at the modern times too. You will (sigh) beat the living crap out of your enemy civilisations by throwing them tanks, gun boats and combat aircraft. At some point you will shoot at HUGE missile at the planet itself and everybody dies and you win. Fifth mini game) The space stage. WELCOME TO LIMBO. Yes, and I say limbo because once you enter here the simulation never ends. You explore star systems, you create colonies, you trade spices, you BEAT THE LIVING CRAP out of enemy species and at the endgame you face a race of cyborg-like creatures that are the enemies of the galaxy...BUT, don't get your hopes up, they are unbeatable. Yup, they're just there to piss you off. OH, and you should get to the center of the galaxy to meet Steve, he will give you an garbage artefact that lets you terraform exactly 42 planets and it will break after. MUCH EVO! SO SPACE! MANY FUN!

Crashes, crashes, crashes...

The game is basically unplayable as you don't know exactly when the save file you've spent hours on will get corrupted but you know that it will happen eventually. Otherwise the game is great but the whole crashing and file corruption ruins it entirely.

I replay this now and then

I remember when this first came out. It sounded great. After playing for a bit and seeing a review it (way back when it was first out) it felt like more of a grid then fun. The good points: You can make a monster/alien look like anything you like (from a list of parts). What you eat (fruit/meat or both) will be used for how you take over a city and the idealism of you're people as you move on. you can make them a herbivore (eat fruit), Carnivore (kill to eat) or Omnivore (eat some fruit and kill a tribe to eat) Later you can make a kind of outfit for them (hats, backpacks, mustache and a few other things from a list) You can make Homes, factory's and places to have fun (from a big list) and cars, boats, airplanes to take over other city's. You take over city's by Religion, Battle or Trade (buying them out) and as you take over a city that has a different way of life you will be asked if you'd like to swap to it. Last thing you can make is a ship and fly around collecting spice, artifacts, terraforming items and trading with alien's. The Bad points: You have to hunt down the other parts. and don't get enough DNA points to put most of what you find on you're alien. You have to be fast if you are looking to be peaceful with other tribes or else you will lose a tribe member or 2 before you can start to talk peace (play the right instrument for them). When can have a harder time keeping all the city's you own safe and still take over the last few before you can pay for the world dominating skill before you take over. Once you get into space you can't go far for fear of space pirates. Plus you need fuel so you need to have a lot of items (like spice) ready to trade to get the money to get the fuel. Galactic Adventures adds a little more to it (pushing it up to 3 stars) and make it a little more fun BUT it's still a a bit of a grind to keep people happy
