not good at all
For only a couple bucks, I didn't expect much, but I enjoyed Buckshot Roulette so I figured I'd try it out. As someone who has a lot of experience with servers, programming, and Linux filesystems, I have to say, I can't see how this would be enjoyable for anyone who *doesn't* have experience with those things. But even if you do, the fact that the gameplay is based around exploring a filesystem in a terminal WITHOUT being able to reference folders...is insane to me. The game is short, so okay fine. But I don't want to have to `cd` into every folder one-by-one to look at things or edit files. It's just annoying. Made me think why am I even playing this lol. But if you don't have any experience with terminals, I can only imagine that you would be completely lost. So that leads me to my next point. If you are expected to solve these puzzles without having terminal experience, the disturbing ending I got simply wouldn't be worth it. The game does not just touch on self harm, the ending is all about it. I found this way too unsettling. It didn't feel like the game "earned" it. It just happens. There are two endings, but I'm certainly not going to be playing anymore to find out what happens in the 2nd one. In fact, I'm returning this game.
Is this helpful to you?
