SpaceChem is an intriguing, "problem-solving centric" puzzle game by Zachtronics Industries that combines the logic of computer programming with the scientific domain of chemistry, set in an original science fiction universe. Players build machines using mechanics similar to visual programming that assemble and transform chemical compounds. Players later connect those machines together to form complex pipelines, and ultimately construct special pipelines to fight back against space-monsters that threaten humanity. Puzzle ? No, mindblowing ...

If you're looking for a puzzle game, you should go away. It's a MIND BLOWING thinking game. Your brain will be used with this one. And well used.

Grey-matter does matter!

I can think about the best solution for hours, try different combinations just to be among the top 10 players who beat the level. And once the combination is working... that great satisfaction is worth it!

Great puzzles really get the brain going

Some of these puzzles really take a lot of creative thought. I don't know how many times I would have to stop playing because a certain solution was evading me, only to keep putting things together in my head. More often than not I'd come up with a way to solve the puzzle after by brain had a little while to cool down. It gives a really nice sense of satisfaction.

Puts a suspicious video file on desktop

I installed the game using lutris on linux mint and a video file named 'SpaceChem - Of Pancakes and Spaceships (188, 1, 9) - 2024-02-15-13-56-11.ogv' appeared on my desktop. It is signed with todays date. What does it mean ? I deleted the video file and uninstalled the game alltogether !
