An awesome and innovative tower defense

I did not buy the GOG version I played it elsewhere. I must say that this one is the perfect tower defense game out there. I can't complain. It is not too difficult but not too easy either. You won't really get annoyed but it keeps you on your toes. Your arsenal is vast but you don't have too much options. I bet the creators were playing TD games in their last....like 10 years. The only problem is the lack of pause option but I can live with that: nobody is perfect.

A must have for any tower defense fan.

A must have for any tower defense fan, it got me hooked for hours on the first play, i basically lost track of time. You want to get them 5/5 rating on every mission so there is a lot of planning and perfection needed to get that! You have offensive towers and defense towers and the big ones also require power so you need to think before you place them because your ship has limited space. Some towers are really handy and even necessary for completion. You can't really tell in advance what enemies you will face so it's a bit of trail and error to figure out what is the most optimal build! Ups: - Lot's of variety, one time you need to haul cargo the next time nuclear material. - Great twitst on tower defence, you have limited space and the faster you go the more credits you bring in. - Nice amount of enemies, from asteroids to space pirates to drones. - Not too hard not too easy Downs: All of them are minor - No checkpoints, so if you made a slight mistake its all the way back to the beginning. - No fast forward, if you need to restart from the beginning again it gets dull to wait for the mission to start. - Micro managing, to get the best out of your ship some micro managing will be needed and everything is so chaotic its hard to keep up. - Upgrade system, its too grindy, sometimes you need to do the same mission you perfected over and over to get the passive upgrades so you can progress again.

Fun and challenging TD-like game

I bought this Space Run two days ago because I was intrigued by the premise of building a spaceship instead of building towers along a path. I played the first 5 missions and the game is pretty fun to play. It starts a little bit easy but gets quite challenging very fast. At least for me. I'm not that much of a fan of TD games in general. Might be a piece of cake for players that play much TD-like games. So, if you like TD-games or even don't like them that much but want to have a look at an innovative and greatly executed approach (in Space!) at TD, get Space Run. Only thing I'm missing is a pause option. But that might be the FTL player in me complaining.

A fun little fling

It's fun to level up your weapons as you complete missions. For quite a while, the missions are completely winnable with a little study. Eventually, things get a little too hectic, and that takes away from the fun.

Great and unique concept, but ...

"Space Run" has a truely unique concept that I didn't play before. Unfortunately, there are some things that keep me from fully enjoying it: - Every few minutes, whenever I finish a mission, the space vessel resets completely. All my modules are away, and I start from scratch. In my opinion, this crushes the motivation to continue. - Most of the time during a mission, I change angels of my super-stupid turrets or sell them to build them somewhere new. In my opinion, this is annoying. - The graphics are basic and small as hell. Sometimes, I can't figure out whats going on and where I get attacked. Since the modules look all the same, I often build or sell the wrong parts. Maybe "Space Run" wasn't simply what I expected. I thought of it more like a roguelike game in which I upgrade my ship and keep it (!) during the course of the game. Instead, it is more like a reverse tower defense, but with always the same map (space scrolling from left to right).
