It's too kind
Great game but has no real death penalty. If when my character dies, it should zap anything I might've gained has I completed the level. Maybe put it into a hardcore mode or something?

Strong start, but trails off
Good graphics, decent optimization, and has actual story. All better so far than Vampire Survivors. There is a limited upgrade tree that applies to all characters, and then you unlock character-specific skill trees with 4 small upgrades that apply to any unlocked character. However, those are either filled very fast or bottlenecked by purple crystals. I only filled out a couple characters before I stopped playing because I'd hit an effective power ceiling. The waves and maps play faster than Vampire Survivor, at least to start, until the later modes where you have to play multiple matches. The maps are all fine, but you're ignoring most of it to focus on the elite mobs. Bosses have escalating hit points, but you've either figured out how to counter their attack patterns and kite or you aren't getting to the bosses at all so higher difficulty just means longer time for more of the same. The attacks start feeling interchangeable and it doesn't take long before the enemies stop feeling like a threat or something clever play can work threw faster. It's a decent time, probably a good purchase on sale, but there's not a strong endgame and the way you earn crystals means you'll only really be short purple crystals and swimming in the others.
