Discover a Mysterious & Dynamic World
Delve into long forgotten dungeons to unearth ancient artifacts, but stay watchful of light and darkness: many dangers hide in the dark, but a light can attract monsters. Some enemies have darkvision, some may flee from your torch... Successful adventurers will learn to use it to their advantage.
Fight monsters in squad-level, turn-based, tactical combat. Solasta's dynamic environment offers some interesting tactical options. Bridges can collapse, leaving enemies stranded and vulnerable. Walls and columns can be pushed over - on top of your foes, if you do it right. The world is your playground.
Prepare to Think in Three Dimensions
The dungeons in Solasta are more than flat game-boards. Climb, jump, or fly around obstacles. Evade or surprise foes from above or below. Push them into chasms or drop things on their heads. Position yourself on high grounds to start the fight with an advantage.
Size also matters. Escape through narrow passages where bigger enemies won't fit and crawl through tunnels to find secret areas. Take advantage of the environment to find cover suited to your own size. Watch out, though - the monsters are also thinking vertically.
Dungeon Maker
In Solasta, the adventure does not stop after the campaign is over. Unleash your creativity and craft your own dungeons to play and share with friends with the snap of a finger using the in-game Dungeon Maker! From the room layout, monster composition and treasure the party will find – down to the decoration and lighting of each room or the music track playing – everything is decided by you.
Note that the Dungeon Maker is a work in progress and will keep being improved as time goes by, so look forward to more Dungeon Maker features in the future!

Short. Many restrictions. Weak lore, almost absent RPG part. TOO MUCH cutscenes. Cutscenes are ruining reconnaissance/battle preparations.
Still, playable, enjoyable. Saved me from just another Icewind Dale 1 replay.
Since my review has since been deleted on the supporter pack after this game release "in full", I figure I'll just comment on this game.
First off, I noticed that the game had a huge update so I figured I booted it up to see what the biggest of differences of were. To start, the campaign's story is still pretty garbage. Uninteresting, a plot I do not care to engage with, etc etc. But that's okay, because this game has 1) multiplayer and 2) the ability to play custom campaigns that users have made that would elevate what the game provides. But that's not points towards the game - that is not a groundbreaking feature.
Second off, and the LARGEST point, is that if this game was a product of love to DnD 5e then you wouldn't have to purchase the Barbarian and Druid class. I have been a DM for 5e for a long time and love the system, but the fact that you have to pay for the Barbarian and Druid class is SO INCREDIBLY gross that it is mind boggling. The "Primal Calling" pack is not even in included in the new Lightbringer's Edition they have included. I am more than willing to pay for extra classes/races that were released in later books, but the fact that these two classes are in the BASIC PLAYER'S HANDBOOK is so incredibly embarrassing that I can't fathom it.
Neverwinter Nights accomplished so much. They don't need to emulate that game, but at least those dev's, backed by Bioware, Atari, AND Wizards of the Coast, had the decency to include all the basic classes. They made a story that was thrilling and made me want to continue going forward.
If this is the best of a "5e" game then I am embarrassed.
Despite some flaws (primarily that if feels as if they left out a lot of what was originally planned) this is by far my favorit RPG in many years. There isn't a lot of actual roleplaying to be done but the story is fine, the world feels huge, mysterious and lived in and the fully animated party banter is great.
The big selling point is the tactical combat combined with the well balanced caracter development. The classes are well balanced (just bring one cleric and basically any composition should work fine) and almost every combat is well designed and feels unique and exiting.
Highly recommended.
