Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 now includes ‘Butcher’s Banquet’: a major expansion which introduces an entirely new and expansive region - The Temple - complete with all-new objectives and some of your most deadly contracts, yet.
The stunning desert-like area, made up of luscious oases, dramatic waterfalls, and mysterious temples, might look picturesque, but make no mistake - it’s no holiday destination. Following the recent turmoil in Kuamar, a new threat has been allowed to surface. The movement is led by the notorious Mahmoud Zarza... aka ‘The Butcher’. Unpredictable and incredibly dangerous (hence the moniker), we need you to eliminate him and his equally-lethal associates, and in doing so, put a stop to the faction's rapid uprising… as only you know how.
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 marks the most challenging entry to the acclaimed series yet, introducing extreme long-range sniping with targets over 1000m away. Featuring a dramatic single-player campaign set in modern day Middle East, experience high-pressure tactical combat, deep inside enemy territory.

I am very new to the sniper game genre and was considering buying Sniper Elite but this game caught my attention I like the more modern look to it as compare to WW2 setting. Having said that I bought Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 first, while the game was ok but for some reason it felt out of place for me like it was trying to be something it wasn't. It also was buggy, icons on mini-maps won't dissapear even when you had the loot. It also took longer to load considering its an old game it didn't ran quite well and there was a lot of traveling in between empty towns that had literally blind npcs. It also suffered from bad writing and goofy dialogue at times too but the sniping mechanic was to die for I haven't came across anything like it sure I have played a lot of popular openworld fps like farcry series. But the gunplay and sinping in genral was more satisfying so I looked for something similar.
Therefore I took a gamble bought this game the latest from the series. And I have to say I don't regret it basically improves everything in my opinion. So lets start with the story I felt more immersed as the story made a lot more sense. As someone from a country that is close proximity to the middle east, respect to the developers for having a more grounded story and forgiving narative as most games based on such settings tend to be not so much. In short it's relatable to some extent and interesting because it's fictional.
The graphics and music is great really matches the theme and vibes. The gunplay is solid as ever although one complaint I would say is I liked the scope more in SGW3 where you can see the dials on the side of the scope but it's not really an issue. There are some minor bugs though, in one of the mission in Zindah I placed mines they would dissapear near a vehicle and the enemies would constanlty enter and exit the vehicle which was weird. Other than that it's a great experience is replayable with multiple things to unlock, explore and good level designs.
Even more sterile than Contracts 1.
Graphics on a 2013-level and still destroy your gpu when you uncap the fps, sounds are well made though.
Voiceovers for the enemies feel weird (things they say and how they say it). Voiceovers for the protagonist sometimes play at wrong times (bugged).
Short in general (5-6h playtime).
Skin dlcs install as separate files (about 20 of them) and also have to be uninstalled separately.
GW3 was their best game, should have polished that one instead of jumping into Contracts 1 and this one.
The game is a classic stealth-killer game with an added sniping element. The graphics look nice. The story is short and not very original, but the gameplay is fun. It feels a bit like Hitman: World of Assassination, but without disguises.
I'm a big fan of the first game (and have played all other related games here on GOG), so I didn't exect much of a storyline beyond a minimal "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" type of plot/story. However, this one misses the mark on every aspect of the story from the start and it's quite dissapointing. Part of the dissappointment is the voice you have to listen to all the time - your character engages in very distracting and stupid banter with someone that sounds like a bartender in a less-frequented pub in London. Gameplay isn't too bad, but the original is more enjoyable to play. The addition of pointless achievements and "collectibles" in the completion calculation was a huge time wasting mistake. The AI is somehow worse than the original.
