Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts offers a completely unique shooter, far better than its predecessors and absolutely noteworthy in the FPS genre as a whole. But players will need a love for stealth, slow gameplay, and the patience of a saint in order to properly enjoy it.

So, aside from EAC...
...This is what two years of refinement and polish looks like? The only things that are markedly better than release are the responsive behavior for weapons and the game's performance itself; that's it. Animations still skip, bullets remain inconsistent despite the gameplay enhancements, there's almost no overlap checking for events in the game (AI, messages, etc.), and the only expansions to speak of are nickel-and-dime DLC guns?! While people praise this game for polish, they MUST be talking about the graphics. Otherwise, this is somehow just as bad as SGW3. I would rather play SGW3 than this, and that's saying a lot. Oh, and negative points to the devs and to GOG for EAC and review catering. If this were an online game or MMO with EAC, sure. Otherwise, there is objectively no reason for it to be allowed on a DRM-free platform, as yes, EAC has and can cause issues with varied platforms and transfers. As far as removing reviews, you only add fuel to the fire by censoring people. Summary: if I hadn't bought the entire series for $15, I would refund this. It's garbage, and two years hasn't added or improved enough to make it worth the borderline abhorrent price tag of $30.

Feels kind of sterile
Amazing graphics and sound quality. Small but annoying gameplay bugs. Good level/map design. Not so good ballistics feel. Silenced weapons again sound like in the movies. I wonder if the gameplay designers ever fired a scoped rifle in real life - in their fourth sniper-style game they still design it as a trope-laden inconsistent mess. No feeling of tension or dread in the game. It feels kind of sterile, and arrogant in purpose (because of the mission- and the general setting presentation). Only the overall feel of great production quality helps it to the 4 star rating, otherwise it deserves 2.

Kind of mediocre, and badly optimized
The game itself is somewhat lackluster. There are only like 5 maps to play in, and the game artificially tries to extend the gametime by adding challenges, collectibles and bounties (last of which cannot even be done in a single run). Don't get me wrong, I like that sort of thing, but not when their sole purpose is to make up for the lack of content. Also, plot is unmemorable. I completed the game only few days ago, and I don't remember much of it, anymore. I did like the skill tree system, but I would have preferred more focus on a gradual character performance development, e.g. hand stability, breathing, reload speed, etc. multilevel upgrades. The fact that the upgrades are somewhat divided on the tokens was good, but the weapon upgrades were kind of an after-thought. And no silencers for the secondary weapon (rifles)? Ended up using mostly sniper and pistol. And now the worst part: The game is a complete mess on the performance optimization. I have AMD Ryzen 5600x and AMD Radeon 6700XT, and even with 1280x720 and lowest quality settings, I'm still getting massive framedrops and fluctuations, like from 100fps all the way to 10fps. I thought SGW3 was badly optimized, but this was on a totally different level. If the game was properly optimized, I would have given 3.5 stars, but as it is, I'm going with 2 stars and non-recommendation.

not the best game i played, average in all it tried, i prefered the previous one in every aspect, except maybe the ballistics of weapons but that's all
