Included: Single-player content of Sniper: Ghost Warrior Second Strike
When the democratic government of Isla Trueno is overthrown, an aggressive and hostile military command rises to power. A highly trained special ops unit is sent in to help the rebels accomplish objectives that only a sniper can handle. In addition to intense sniper missions, players will also take part in a variety of assault scenarios where their prowess with weapons will be a huge help to the undermanned rebels. Sniper: Ghost Warrior seeks to challenge players in new ways so that the game is both demanding and entertaining.

Players take on the role of a Ghost Warrior, an elite sniper in a highly trained special ops unit, whose unique skills in the art of stalking, target detection, surveillance and shooting accuracy will determine mission success. Covert missions force players to operate undetected as they attempt to eliminate hostile enemies one head shot at a time.

This shooter sometimes seems to forget the focus was the sniper, and plants you in the shoes of someone else from time to time. Maybe it's because the developers know the bullet cam is boring compared to Sniper Elite, and the graphics are muddier than the swamps in Dead Island: Riptide.
The sniping mechanics are fun, the other shooting mechanics less so. Stealth can be too easily broken, AI is basic and pretty dumb as a result, the story is about as bland as Soldier of Fortune: Payback, and it's a toss-up between which is worse; the dialogue, or the voice-acting.
First mission, I got distracted by something (IRL), didn't advance to the next spot but stayed hidden as instructed. Enemy instantly saw me and unloaded mags on me.
You know what they say about first impressions. If this is how the gamne is going to be and apparently is based on the reviews, its not even worth the 1.50 I spent on sale.
Just get Sniper Elite instead.
This game is mediocre.
The snipping part is decent. You walk around real stealth-like and snipe people from far away. It requires patience, but it is satisfying. However, the bad guys are complete morons. You'll snipe somebody and his comrade a few meters away will either keep on chilling or walk around in 'caution' mode, but not move too much or scream out to alert everyone. Also, when you hide in the vegetation, the immediate foliage gets in your field of vision like crazy, way more than you'd think would actually happen (even if you stand at the edge, it will completely blind you). It would have been nice if they had done something about that.
Overall, the snipping portion would have been enough for me to rate the game at least 3 stars, except that a couple level into the game, it gets to the regular combat section (no snipping) and it is really bad. Unless you are right next to your opponent, neither your pistol nor your machine guns seem to do much. The opponents will hit you just fine however, so you need to find good cover, fire ineptly from farther away than your gun can be effective at and go back and forth like this while you regenerate: once your health is below 30, it will automatically regenerate back to 30 if you are not fired on and you will exploit this mechanic to trade fire with your machine gun from cover with a single opponent for minutes (he will mostly hit you and you will mostly miss) until you've killed him at which point you may notice that you're low on ammo... and your friends during those types of mission are mostly moral support. They stand around ineffectively and fire ineptly at things and unlike you are invincible.
I soldiered through the first non-snipping mission hoping it was just a small break and I'd get back to snipping, then the mission after that was like that and now I'm bailing on this game.
Worth 1$ for the couple of snipping missions beginning, though one your first mission without the snipping riffle, you should stop.
