Even without the mods and just simcity 4 the game stood on itself pretty good, surely it has dropped the ball in a few details as in the fun aspect of the extras apart from the city building like events, actual mayor relations, and other wacky things that added the games Simcity 3000 unlimited and simcity 2000, even with or without mods it can go against recent/newer simcity games or other city building games, and i can throw it against simcity 5, indeed it have a 3D visuals in the game but something that made the game bad and even sometimes the simulation itself wasn't greatly done but the blame i can throw it is to the glass engine they used, it was like bare bones or incomplete and that also probably damaged the quality on textures, and now they will use it in the next sims 4 game, no wonder is lacking in features too.
Sim City 4 is about as advanced as the series gets before it started to devolve into the monstrosity it is now and it's about all you can expect from the definitive Sim City experience. This is as good as the series city building gets. For a construction and management sim the controls are hardly flexible though the interface is intuitive enough and the game does not easily accommodate mistakes. I don't know what some idiot was smoking when they thought up the vehicle missions. They are dumb sloppy pointless and trivial. I wish there was a way to make the mission markers disappear. The game looks like nothing short of disgusting on anything but the highest graphics settings. But it functions as a solid CMS. Can't do much better than this, but this could have done better itself.
Detailing why SC4 (and its expansion pack Rush Hour) is good is a waste of time. It is enough to say that it is the most in-depth city-builder I have ever played. It has nearly everything you could ask for to build in a city and what it doesn't have, its expansive modding network is sure to have it.
Should you buy it? Sure why not.
wow, lag much? cant even type? I cannot even watch the tutorial. all i get is a flashing red arrow. NO TIME at all to actually look at the Tutorial, just instant flashing red arrow. will be asking for a refund. i tried to just open the game and play, but not being able to see the tutorial, i have no idea what to do. not sure if this is even going to show ans this window is doing nothing but glitching.
