Excellent to some, excrement to others
You have to be of certain attitudes to like SC3000, or any Sim City series game, or any other of this type (eg Cities Skylines). You will either give this a raving 5-star review and be pos-repped to the highest heavens by fellow 5-star raving reviewers, or you'll be giving it a 1-star flaming takedown and be neg-repped to the depths of the sewers by those said 5-star raving reviewers. All that is quite normal for rep abuse here in GOG's reviews. They should (but will probably never) remove the rep system. Once I was a true lover of SC, I loved SC when I first got in on my Amiga 500 in 1989, and loved SC2000 when I got in on my PC in 1994. Since then, I've not played any of it's kind for decades. But I myself have changed since, revisiting these here in the 2020's, I have not refound that love. In fact I was bored within just a hour of playing this, ditto for SC2000, and Cities Skylines. I simply have fallen out of love of the genre. So in my personal opinion, this is just 1-star. But it would be unfair to trash it so when in other eons I would have 5-starred it. So it gets 3. You'll know before buying if you'll love this or loathe it though. But if you're unsure, heed my warning, you just might not like what you buy. SC3000 is, to be objective, not quite as good as it's predecessor, SC2000, however. The UI is rather shitty, especially compared to 2000 - and the graphics are poorer, despite technically being more advanced. It sticks to same formula though, whilst also adding more content. So, it is a good buy for those who KNOW they'll like it. Me? I think I got it on a free offer, so, hey, no loss eh?
