Silent Hunter® 2

I wish I had tried this game out when I bought it. Sadly, I did not have time until much later. I tried jsut now to play it when I have time and wanted to try something new. It does not do ANYTHING at all except maek your screen go black. Minimzing tells you the name of the window "SH2 Screen Blacker." I can think of 1000 games more fun than staring at simple black screen. I would rather play slap wars with a hornets nest. At least that would be exciting?

Putting too many notes on a map make this game crash. It is unfortunate because this feature could be very useful in tracking a ship or convoy. The game is still playable, though.

As subsims go, this is definitely one of the better ones. Very immersive experience that captures the extreme boredom and intense action of the real thing. However, this is actually one of my complaints. The missions tend to take way too long to complete. Who has 3 hours in a day to devote to playing a game? I found myself multi-tasking; i.e. loading the dishwasher while driving to my next waypoint, and that was WITH the time compression. This is when the game actually works, which is rare. It crashes constantly, often after successfully completing the mission objectives and just trying to get home. Being able to adjust realism settings is nice. but fun fact, turning them up does NOT seem to get you medals & awards any faster or more often. All in all, I give it a solid 'meh'. I'm so frustrated at this point with the crashing, I've all but given up on finishing the campaign.

Pass on buying this buggy broken game. There is no mission editor and enemy destroyers always detect you, you wont be able to hide ever. Buy Silent Hunter 3 instead, its what this game should have been.

Game has crahed 3 times in 2 days. I'm done with it.
