no controller support, incomplete game
You've got to fix the game controller suport yourself with third party program like "xinput plus", and the game is not the complete one according to an external source (pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Silent_Hill_4:_The_Room#Controller_support). Please see forums for this game before buying. I think it's better to play the emulated version than this or to use your old console as i can (but i'm too lazy for..)

WILL NOT INSTALL ON WINDOWS 7
The game refuses to install through windows 7. The GOG Galaxy app is constantly running into failures in the install, despite the fact it installs other games just fine. I run into E2, E4, and E8 errors while installing. In addition, when I downloaded the backup install files directly from the desktop website, the install from that doesn't even install the .exe file needed to run the game.

Not worth the trouble
graphics are ugly, game starts off in a room where character can only move 2 steps in any direction and the hit-boxes for item is way off, quit the first time without even getting out of the first room, I started it again and made it out of the apartment and through my first battle with some dogs but the graphics, controls and camera angles sapped all joy from it.

One more thing...
Okay...this might seem like a lazy cash-in with no enhancement over the 2004 release but two things to consider. Konami has probably lost the source code like they did with SH2 so can't update it, plus this might be a gauge for a potential Silent Hill games in the future.
