James heads to where they shared so many memories,

What a Remake Should Be
Very nostalgic while also keeping you at the edge of your seat, like when you first played the original and didn't know what to expect. Just like most horror games, loses a lot of value after your first playthrough, but overall a quality experience. Play on Hard.

Silent Hill 2 Remake is good, nuff said
This is an incredibly faithful remake of the original PS2 game, not only does it feature several beloved areas, music and characters, but it also expands on everything. While there are areas and puzzles for example that have been changed, the original versions have not been forgotten. This is what all remakes should strive to be.

Liked it enough to buy it again on GOG
Pre-ordered the standard edition on Steam, then gave into the dark temptation to buy it again as the fancy Deluxe Edition with the art book to support the release coming out on GOG, cuz hell yea. I've probably played the original Silent Hill 2 half a dozen times, and this has got my full-on seal of approval. Graphics are fantastic, atmosphere is on point-- and combat is visceral enough that my wife has been legit shrieking when an enemies pops out, and not stopping until she's fully pipped the thing to death. Fantastic experience all round.
