Players control either English, French, Dutch, or Spanish colonists in the New World. This New World can be the historically accurate Americas (North and South) or a randomly generated world with varying resources and challenges. Overseeing economic, military, and political growth, you strive to establish independence from the mother country while competing with other colonies for control of the New World.

Good game, troublesome content
So before anything else, do be aware that this game has a game mechanic of enslaving native americans. It aint great. Definitely a product of its time. Objectively the game isnt bad. It reminds me of Civilization 1, but with far more in-depth colony management compared to Civ 1's city management. Its fun to plan out the economy and get the money rolling. Just... yeah. The content is pretty troublesome. Its rough to recommend the game because of that.

New Games Coming?
Anyone notice the various names in the screenshots? System Shock2 Loom Wasteland Portend of things to come? Make it so Gog! Also, buy this game! I played this way back when and it was one of the most fun sim games of the time. I seem to recall being able to convert everything on the last year to happiness for a higher score. :) I might be confusing this with something else. Age is a terrible thing for memory.
