Can't get the game running
Neither the Steam version I own, nor this version are working. Yes I did install PhysX (restarts of my PC inculded), copied the PhysXLoader64.dll over, I tried different versions of compatibility mode, start as administrator, check on DirectX, start from the folder directly etc. The only difference between both versions is, that the GOG game gives me a start picture, while I get nothing at all on the Steam version. This is the first game on GOG that I can't run. Not working (Win7)
I've tried all fixes I could find (PhysX, DirectX, compatibily mode, run at 640x480 etc). Also, the support folder is missing in this version. I can't believe I'm downloading a test version right now.

Definitely not what I expected
I couldn't immerse myself in the story because there were too many puzzles. I understand that with Sherloch Holmes you can expect many puzzles, but with this game the story and the tension got sacrificed for it. Which is a pity, as the combination of Sherlock Holmes and Jack the Ripper made me quite exciting for playing it. Now I am skeptical to start playing the other Sherlock games...
