Sherlock Holmes and The Hound of The Baskervilles

I give this game a 4 out of 5. For what it is, for what its genre is, for what it tries to be and how much it succeeds at it. The game is a hidden object game, with several added puzzles in it that are not hidden objects puzzles/games. It has an interesting story with some good acting and excellent music. The graphics are good, though technically only 5:4/4:3 aspect ratio. You can still play it at 16:9 as it comes out of the box (ie GOG), but I suggest changing it to a native resolution that isn't stretched. Played it to completion on the harder difficulty setting, with limited experience with similar games. It was fun, though not very long at about 5-7 hours long. The game has a hint system and a bypass puzzle option in case you get stuck. The only major issue for me, and the reason why I didn't give it full 5 stars, the ending is lackluster.. A let down. As others already said: I nice little game if you like the search for hidden objects, but it has almost nothing to do with the original story and you don´t need to think at all, which is very unlike Sherlock Holmes, too. Searching is enough. Nonetheless it is a way of passing the time if you feel for an uncomplicated game, and if you wait until it is on sale, you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic adventure game in the old style, great puzzles, pleasant setting, and great relaxation for everyone, but I don't understand what the plot has to do with the classic The Hound of the Baskervilles. It's a completely different story than the original one, it's not bad, but it's absolutely different from the original, reminiscent of Goosebumps rather than a classic detective story. In any case, if you want to relax with a very pleasant short game, I highly recommend this game.

It's a hidden object game with some (mostly rather easy) puzzles, loosely based on the novel by the same name. And for that, it's good. It's not a high quality, tripple A, live changing gaming expirience, obviously not. But I got it for 90 cents in a sale and had a good time for a bit more than 2 hours. Totaly worth it. The voice acting is a bit stiff for some lines, and the animations aren't the best (the lip animation in the intro gave me such a laugh flash that's it already worth the money xD) and the graphics are what you would expect from a early 2010s game. But I had no problems getting along, no bugs, no moon logic, the next step was always good to figure out. As other reviews already pointed out, there is no tedious backtracking, the map shows you where you need to finish something, you even get to choose if you want to jump directly to a puzzle if you just found the last piece for it. Story wise it's inspired by the novel, not an adaptation. And honestly, I have seen worse verisons that clamed to be adaptations of the book, and for the the beginning of the intro it feels like someone from the dev team has at least skimmed the first chapter of the novel and someone on the team has at least some understanding of the characters as they appeared in the original stores.
