Description
The world ended on the day the bombs fell. Since then, it’s always been like this: disease, hunger, death. The ruling Aristocrats — a faceless oligarchy that controls all resources — have unchallenged authority. There’s never enough food, water, or vaccine to go around. The rich receive regular doses of vaccinations in exchange for their unconditional government support. The poor live in fear, superstition, and squalor until they die.

Amy Wellard, a young woman reluctantly working for the government to qualify for the vaccine lottery, believes there’s a cure — and she’s going to find it. Even if it costs her her life.

Shardlight is pretty damned decent though. The story’s a bit more straightforward than some other Wadjet Eye games, it ends a bit too abruptly, and a few of the secondary characters needed fleshing out, but all-in-all it makes for an engaging six or seven hours in a world with some great ideas—a bit like Dead Synchronicity, except with an ending. Very grim. Very adult.

Meh.

Very disappointing. Boring uninspired setting (post-apocalypse, here we go again), weak atmosphere, absolutely empty characters, unmotivating story, terrible visuals (pixel art can be so much better), everything is brown and green. Animations are barely existing. Protagonist is boring beyond belief. First ever adventure game in my 20+ years of gaming that I could not bring myself to finish. However, there were no technical difficulties, so this games gets a deserved 1 star.

diversity narrative

This game is just politically correct diversity narrative. Nothing more. To summarize the biased story: Women are always strong, independent leaders. Men (as opposite to women) are either weak or stupid. If they are strong characters, they are the evil ones in the story. Please Game Developers, keep your political ideology away from computer games. Focus instead on the game itself.
