Fun and easy platforming action
Shantae is a metroidvania-style platformer, with a default difficulty level that makes it accessible to all players. The levels are interesting to explore and the abilities make for some fun but not difficult platforming action. Recommended if you like this kind of platforms but don't want the challenge of the more hardcore titles.

Cute, Flirtatious Metroidvania
If I could give this 3.5 stars, I would. As Metroidvania's go, this is... fine. It's more level-like than it really should be, and the exploration options are pretty limited, but it isn't tediously bad either. It's certainly no Hollow Knight, but I've definitely played worse. But you're probably here because it's Shantae, and I am too! I've been interested in trying to franchise out, and most of them didn't land with me, but this one has held my interest. It feels like a good introduction to Shantae, and I enjoy it, especially collecting monster cards and the dance mechanics. I certainly wouldn't call this a masterpiece, but I felt like it was worth my money. Definitely worth it on a sale, or full price if you really like Shantae.

Metroidvania at its best
I would say I'm biased cuz I'm fan of the series, but the previous game I did not finish since it was tedious, so I am capable of disliking. not much to say, if you know the series you know what you are getting. The humor is not as prevalent as prevously, so that's a bummer, but the gameplay is fast, dialogue just what's needed, graphics charming and music servisable

great classic-style shantae game
game returns to the casual metroidvania style roots before HGH... for a port of a mobile game, its pretty impressive. dont own on gog, but i own it on steam. cant speak on this specific gog version, but from my experience on its steam version, its another great shantae game fans will love.
