The Shadow Warrior 2: Bounty Hunt Part 2 content update delivers thirteen thrilling new missions, two spectacular new weapons, and three powerful new perks for Lo Wang and the gang. Strap on your katana and go for one last ride alone or in co-op through missions like Lost Girls, Missing Yakuza, and Danger Zone with new weapons like the Tactical Bullet Spewing Machine (TBSM).

The Shadow Warrior 2: Bounty Hunt Part 1 content update piles on the action with fourteen wild new missions, two dazzling new weapons, and four tantalizing new perks for Lo Wang and the gang. Battle alone or with up to four ninjas in crime in some of the most over the top missions yet like Plague of the Bunny Lords, 50 Shades of Shade, and Danger Zone on Mt. Akuma. Strike at the demon hordes with new perks like Revenge and Shared Pain or arm up with the new Medusa Ray and EX-GF01 minigun.

Shadow Warrior 2’s The Way of the Wang Content Update opens up a new area within the game’s hub town, presenting seven special trials for Lo Wang to unlock and overcome. Players will be able to earn new crafting abilities, weapon gem slots, and base weapon stat upgrades upon completing each new trial with the new Fist of Gozu battle axe awaiting those warriors that complete all of the trials. The update also includes three new tiers for Insane difficulty and five new achievements to unlock in the campaign.

Shadow Warrior 2 is the stunning evolution of Flying Wild Hog’s offbeat first-person shooter following the further misadventures of former corporate shogun Lo Wang. Now surviving as a reclusive mercenary on the edge of a corrupted world, the formidable warrior must again wield a devastating combination of guns, blades, magic and wit to strike down the demonic legions overwhelming the world. Battle alongside allies online in four-player co-op or go it alone in spectacular procedurally-generated landscapes to complete daring missions and collect powerful new weapons, armor, and arcane relics of legend.

Five years have passed since Lo Wang shattered the alliance between his deceitful former boss and the ancient gods of the shadow realm. Despite noble intentions, Lo Wang’s efforts to annihilate the darkness corrupted the world, creating a strange and savage new order where humans and demons live side by side.

The once feared warrior now lives in the shifting wildlands outside the reach of his enemies and the neon glow of Zilla’s cybernetic metropolis, scratching out a meager existence as a hired sword for the local Yakuza clans. When a simple mission goes wrong, Lo Wang is drawn into a volatile conflict between a brilliant young scientist, a controversial cult leader, and a terrifying new drug known as Shade. The sharp-tongued hero must once again wield lethal blades, staggering firepower, and archaic magic to purge the world of evil.
  • Blades and Bullets – Lo Wang delivers his own brand full throttle brutality with an expanded array of over 70 lethal blades and explosive firearms to overcome the demonic opposition. Become a whirlwind of steel and blood with razor sharp katana, short swords, crescent blades, and hand claws or unleash a hellish symphony of ornate firearms to decimate your enemies.
  • Four Player Co-Op – Battle through the expansive campaign alone or team up as a four-player typhoon of destruction online in campaign co-op mode. Tackle challenging primary missions or thrilling side quests while maintaining your own ninja style with customizable armor, items, and valuable loot from your triumphs.
  • Procedural Environments – The breach between the human and demon realms created an interdimensional hernia resulting in constant shifts to the world of Shadow Warrior 2. Procedurally generated landscapes and paths bring new twists and turns to once familiar terrain and routine missions.
  • Brutal Damage System – Choose your weapon based on the situation at hand and then dismantle everything that stands in your path with an advanced gore system. Use precision blade strikes to separate limbs and heads or switch to heavy ordinance and blow a hole right through colossal beasts.
  • Custom Upgrade System – Upgrade weapons in your arsenal with up to three stones at once to improve performance or augment them with devastating elemental effects. Collect karma, amulets, and armor to enhance Lo Wang’s power and shift his death-dealing artistry into overdrive.

If You Thought "Super Buddies" Was..

..the funniest movie ever, this game is for you! Let me say up front that I didn't buy this game: it appeared as a "gift" from GOG in my library. I thought it was going to be a serious ninja/martial arts game--or as serious as most martial arts games and movies tend to be. Instead, it was like strolling into a reading room paneled in fine mahogany, choosing a volume richly bound in hand-tooled leather, opening it up, and finding "Hilarious Jokes for Toilet Time." Now, let me hasten to say that the graphics, (except for people's faces which were wooden and cartoony), sound effects, controls, up-leveling, weapons & attacks-adding, skill-laddering(?), and player movement are all generally very good. It's fun looking for money and items in the game's atmospheric and prettily-detailed corners. And almost everything is destructible--the most fun I had in the first few levels/areas was going around in the mob boss's elaborately furnished mansion and slashing or breaking everything to pieces (her goons just stand there and watch), then going out to the mansion's garages and blowing up/setting everything on fire. But the over-the-top destruction of the environment was pretty much the highlight for me. The attempts at humorous dialogue were generally so bad that they were...well, really bad, distractingly bad. The plot was tissue-paper thin (not that it mattered) and the opponents didn't really make much sense: giant killer ants and crab monsters as martial arts opponents? Your armory isn’t exactly old school: if the graceful arc of your katana doesn’t vanquish enemies, you can pull out a machine pistol or .44 magnum or multi-shell shotgun to make a more modern and eloquent statement. As mentioned, the game was a gift--I didn't seek it out. And since this is Shadow Warrior 2, lots of people must have liked it. If the bad humor and general ridiculousness of the story world doesn't get in your way, go for it!

Mediocre

Sadly it's a poor looter shooter and the dick jokes gets boring really fast. Level designs and enemies are dull, most guns are pointless since the melee weapons does the job 99% of the time and the story is nothing to write home about. But I will give the game this, it made me laugh 1 time and it was actual funny. If you want a good co-op shooter, get L4D2 Do you want a looter shooter? Get Borderland 2

WANGTASTIC

Awsesome game. Even better than it's predecessor. Great graphics, great sound, great atmosphere, great gameplay, not so great story but who cares..;) I played through it about 10 hours and I think I finished all missions (campaign + side-missions). It sure has this or that glitch. Some flickering textures, some areas where you can see through the ground but nothing gamebreaking. It also runs flawless on mid-end machines with very good settings. Great job from the programmers/developers. I've heard rumours that it refuses to run on duocore-processors at it's current state but I have a quadcore so can't confirm it. The price is sweet. I got it from "the enemy" (blame me) because they shamelessly put it on sale during the time it was on pre-order so it was a very good deal (SW 2013 I got from GOG). Also you don't need to have played the first part to understand the story but it's good if you have because there are characters from the first part appearing. All in all a MUST BUY for Lo Wang fans and other people that like hack'n slash games.

Two Steps forward, one step back.

The world looks awesome, the game plays much smoother as well (and there's no annoying enemy that can be only wounded in the back, 2013-Berserker I'm looking at you :-) ) and the weapons feel different and there's enough of them to experiment, without a feeling of having an obvious choice that outshines all the others. Also gone, are the linear levels. Yay. Technically speaking, everything is a step ot two ahead, of Shadow Warrior. The only complaints I would have, is that I expected more of an old-school FPS and less of a Borderlands-like Looter-Shooter. The other point would be the story. Shadow Warrior 2013 started goofing around, but got intense pretty fast, hit me all to often with suprises and had me at tears in the end. Shadow Warrior 2 lacks an urgency for the most part, which at least gives the Devs time to develop the world a little further: Earth has coped with the collision, more or less, with a demon princess celebrity while other demons work with the criminal underworld and the wilderness mutates. I really liked this, but the story didn't feel urgent or intense until the last two mission, where you get a (not very) suprising main villain to beat and a ending, that doesn't offer much closing and feels more like a set-up for part 3. I guess after the awesome roller coaster ride of 2013, I just expected more something different. Still a good game.

Guidelines said to judge on game merit.

As a game it's an easy 4/5 for me but as a product it's a 2 or a 3 as I've encountered game breaking bugs. At full price the risk of bugs (from my personal perspective) is not worth it. Maybe get it on a sale if you're prepared to create new charaters on occasion. Short description of the game: it's like DOOM but with some aspects of randomly generated and more open levels. Keep in mind that I have neither finished this game or played DOOM. Normally I like to finish the game but as I mentioned I encountered some bugs. Gameplay is strong and it's got a gear system similar to that of borderlands (only guns don't drop).
