The Shadow Warrior 2: Bounty Hunt Part 2 content update delivers thirteen thrilling new missions, two spectacular new weapons, and three powerful new perks for Lo Wang and the gang. Strap on your katana and go for one last ride alone or in co-op through missions like Lost Girls, Missing Yakuza, and Danger Zone with new weapons like the Tactical Bullet Spewing Machine (TBSM).

The Shadow Warrior 2: Bounty Hunt Part 1 content update piles on the action with fourteen wild new missions, two dazzling new weapons, and four tantalizing new perks for Lo Wang and the gang. Battle alone or with up to four ninjas in crime in some of the most over the top missions yet like Plague of the Bunny Lords, 50 Shades of Shade, and Danger Zone on Mt. Akuma. Strike at the demon hordes with new perks like Revenge and Shared Pain or arm up with the new Medusa Ray and EX-GF01 minigun.

Shadow Warrior 2’s The Way of the Wang Content Update opens up a new area within the game’s hub town, presenting seven special trials for Lo Wang to unlock and overcome. Players will be able to earn new crafting abilities, weapon gem slots, and base weapon stat upgrades upon completing each new trial with the new Fist of Gozu battle axe awaiting those warriors that complete all of the trials. The update also includes three new tiers for Insane difficulty and five new achievements to unlock in the campaign.

Shadow Warrior 2 is the stunning evolution of Flying Wild Hog’s offbeat first-person shooter following the further misadventures of former corporate shogun Lo Wang. Now surviving as a reclusive mercenary on the edge of a corrupted world, the formidable warrior must again wield a devastating combination of guns, blades, magic and wit to strike down the demonic legions overwhelming the world. Battle alongside allies online in four-player co-op or go it alone in spectacular procedurally-generated landscapes to complete daring missions and collect powerful new weapons, armor, and arcane relics of legend.

Five years have passed since Lo Wang shattered the alliance between his deceitful former boss and the ancient gods of the shadow realm. Despite noble intentions, Lo Wang’s efforts to annihilate the darkness corrupted the world, creating a strange and savage new order where humans and demons live side by side.

The once feared warrior now lives in the shifting wildlands outside the reach of his enemies and the neon glow of Zilla’s cybernetic metropolis, scratching out a meager existence as a hired sword for the local Yakuza clans. When a simple mission goes wrong, Lo Wang is drawn into a volatile conflict between a brilliant young scientist, a controversial cult leader, and a terrifying new drug known as Shade. The sharp-tongued hero must once again wield lethal blades, staggering firepower, and archaic magic to purge the world of evil.
  • Blades and Bullets – Lo Wang delivers his own brand full throttle brutality with an expanded array of over 70 lethal blades and explosive firearms to overcome the demonic opposition. Become a whirlwind of steel and blood with razor sharp katana, short swords, crescent blades, and hand claws or unleash a hellish symphony of ornate firearms to decimate your enemies.
  • Four Player Co-Op – Battle through the expansive campaign alone or team up as a four-player typhoon of destruction online in campaign co-op mode. Tackle challenging primary missions or thrilling side quests while maintaining your own ninja style with customizable armor, items, and valuable loot from your triumphs.
  • Procedural Environments – The breach between the human and demon realms created an interdimensional hernia resulting in constant shifts to the world of Shadow Warrior 2. Procedurally generated landscapes and paths bring new twists and turns to once familiar terrain and routine missions.
  • Brutal Damage System – Choose your weapon based on the situation at hand and then dismantle everything that stands in your path with an advanced gore system. Use precision blade strikes to separate limbs and heads or switch to heavy ordinance and blow a hole right through colossal beasts.
  • Custom Upgrade System – Upgrade weapons in your arsenal with up to three stones at once to improve performance or augment them with devastating elemental effects. Collect karma, amulets, and armor to enhance Lo Wang’s power and shift his death-dealing artistry into overdrive.

A little bit disappointment for old GPUs

This is the kind of game that really needs large VRAM (at least 3GB), and some overclocked old GPUs can't handle it well so it crashes from time to time (GTX600/700 Series or older DX11 video cards). Sacrificing the graphic details is the only solution, but it's really exciting to see some new features of the updated engine. Same things happened to Witcher 3, some kind of GPU-burning stuff and somehow they all detect GPU usage and let the game quit with no warning. Good thing is it worked well on my new PC with a GTX 980, it didn't remain as a serious problem so just put away the old hardware and enjoy it. Nice and funny quotes, this can't be a crappy game.

Best surprise of 2016

Someone bought this for me on Steam so I played it there. Anyway, I've been blown anyway by this game. FWH has always made interesting world designs, decent combat mechanics, but little else. For example in Hard Reset the story was bad, and the first Shadow Warrior gets tedious around the middle. They have upped the ante this time. The things they added to the combat alone feel great. It especially feels good the way you can move around the field in combat with evasion into a double jump into sword slashes. I vaguely remember RPG like mechanics in the first game, but I found the first game forgettable so I can't recall completely. In this it's front and center and totally works. You start with a few cards which you upgrade by leveling up (by finishing missions and killing stuff), but you can find more as drops or buy some at shops. There are tons of skills to level up, and there seems to be no end to skills you'd want. It adds to replayability as it would take a while to level all of them up. The enemy system is similar to Diablo in that it's procedurally generated. You may find a sub boss (or three) in every level, and they have various vulnerabilities and resistances. The regular enemies can as well. The maps themselves don't seem randomly generated, but where you can start in them is so it gives it a little flair. I could be wrong- the maps themselves didn't seem random in my game. There are a decent amount of maps in the game which is good as often you do missions in maps you've been to before. For me this game is fantastic. If I have one downside, though, it's very minor. The "crafting" system is completely meaningless, and only seems to be in the game in order to have another way to get rid of upgrades you don't want. I personally sell all of mine. Overall this may be the best game I've played this year, and I wholeheartedly recommend it. If you like games like Fallout 4 and the new Doom, imagine mixing those two things together and then buy this game.

A lot of fun but bug riddled

Okay, the game has a lot of bugs, but thankfully they usually do not detract too much. Still very fun to play. minus 1 star for the number of bugs and the types of bugs. I have gotten stuck inside a wall, on a rail, and in mid air. I have frozen, crashed, and even had the gui itself and a portion of the keys stop working entirely requiring me to restart the game. I could walk around and still fight and kill enemies, but could not change weapons with scroll wheel, the middle mouse button, or shortcuts. This really is a problem that should never be occuring. Sometimes I have to stop pressing any keys on the keyboard before it will even register that I am pressing forward, or heal or anything really right in the middle of a fight... very annoying. The Rocket launcher sucks hard, got mine to 900+ damage and nothing takes much damange from it usually 200 or so which is bullgarbage, regardless of resistances. Most of the upgrades are nothing more than window dressing. some upgrades do not even appear to do their jobs, and you can still miss an enemy even if you are dead on! Yep, bullets, or I mean your very preciously few stocked rockets & nade ammo will just pass right through enemies like they are not even there wasting a round. That said there are more than enough other weapons that rock and the game is still very fun to play. The story is very fun to work through and the side quests help to make the world feel more open. But if bugs chew your hide up, maybe wait for a few revisions, but I think you can have more than enough fun as it is. Do not take this game too seriously, that is part of it awesomeness in my book. I am not sure what other players were expecting when they complained about this aspect, the irreverant fun and snide, snarky, jackass smartassery is what makes this game! The whole point is to feel awesome while dropping hillarious one-liners while you mow down demons like butter in an oven! Now, stop reading about my pissing and moaning and "Go get some Wang!"

Meh. Has good and bad to it

The UI is definitely targetted for controllers. Seems they wanted a console feel and left a lot of the UI interaction easily manipulated when using a controller but a real pita using keyboard/mouse. I was severely disappointed at this. UI overlays in the merchant screens and inventory/player screens that sit on top of the underlying elements you want to interact with, forces the user to either use arrow keys or move the mouse to a useable area of the screen. Very clunky and annoying. Some UI interaction recognizes the spacebar as a select/enter press, but this is very inconsistent. Again, a controller button accomplishes these interactions but the keyboard/mouse requires a more annoying use. The game has some pretty to it, unfortunately its behavior is inconsistent as well on high-end hardware. Shadows/Lighting that sometimes works, other times it's like there is no geometry between the light sources and your view so entire areas are just full-bright. Bad lighting engine? Intel 5960X, (2x) GTX980, 32G, eVGA X99 MB, 16TB HD (4x4), 51" UHD DC LG as monitor. I've tried various versions of the nVidia driver and it doesn't correct the graphical issues. I have other games that do not exhibit issues like this so the driver tests were just to see if SW2 needed something specific. So while it has its moments of humor, prettiness and fun, I think this should have been polished before release to be considered a 'targetted for PC' game and not another 'console wannabe on PC' mess. After the few patches they've released so far, none of the UI issues have been addressed. It seems the multiplayer aspect comes first, which I'll never use. The graphical glitches seemed to have been overlooked as well. Oh well. Nice try FWH/DD, nice try. I'd advise waiting before buying. I hate buying games only to find out they're BETA. Give the developer some more time to finish it and it will be worth it. It's just not a finished product.

Shadow Warrior 2

Badass loot shooter in the lines of Borderlands and has RPG elements similar to Diablo. One of the best modern FPS games along with DOOM 4 and Destiny It is highly addicting and fast paced You will not be disappointed with this especially if you loved the classics or Shadow Warrior 2013 This is an easy 10/10 for me XD
