Shogun deserves to lose his throne

I was looking for a stealth game set in medieval Japan. You know : the kind of game you can finish without killing anyone, excepted when killing ONE target is your mission. And where there's no such thing as time travel and anachronism. I mean, : when the fuck where invented repeating rifles like the ones enemy soldiers all use ? For a start, I'd like to have 5 teammates on my mission, not only 2. Then, If my coach choose 2 teammates only, I'd like him to choose the ones with the right skills for the mission, not the ones who are the most eager to fail. So I ended using more time hitting F5 (quicksave) and F8 (quickload) than following the dialogs that are supposes to give you some advices.. And to add insult to injury, there's is no pause in this game. Even when you're programming your actions in "shadow" mode, the game is still running. No fun means that's not a good game.

Not a bad Idea

Things that would make this game way more enjoyable 1) change the art direction immediately, make the game less cartoonish and more intense 2) come up with a better story and more interesting characters, there are tons of great movies to take inspiration from here. Preferably a story about a crazy japanese warlord, but make it intense and take some inspiration from early Splinter cell games to make the stealth feel more interesting. 3) more variety of stealth weapons and take downs would be nice as well Overall I like some of the ideas behind this game, but I think it would have been more interesting as a pure ninja stealth game, taking inspiration from movies like the Last Samurai and such. Being able to control a team of ninjas to take out certain targets or objectives is a good idea, and would work well with the overhead view this game uses.

Samurai betrayal?!

Odd how some things you can accept as normal in a game and other things throw you. Technically this game is pretty good. Graphics, gameplay, voice acting, even the story is pretty good. Normally this game would get five stars. I can take in stride that a shinobi and an orphan from the street could take out a whole map of thugs without being noticed. That's just part of the game mechanics. But what I could not deal with was when the samurai betrayed his master. Nope, can't handle it. It completely broke the whole story for me. I stopped playing it and went to youtube for a let's-play of the rest of the game to save time. Samurai DO NOT betray their masters.
