Shadow Man Remastered

I was sure nostalgia was clouding my mind before replaying this game. And yet, while the game may be dated, and could have been overambitious for its times i find the design and care put into this game is something special. The designer might not have been all that at the time and probably the tech wasn't yet there. But they still managed to deliver this kingshit in the design department. Great game. I'll keep on playing it.

It's so often said "they don't make them like that anymore" but it's definitely true of Shadow Man. The atmosphere, the storyline, the characters, the acting, it all comes together in another brilliant game brought to you by the much missed Acclaim - a publisher that was basically god-tier in the golden age of gaming. I'm not noticing any massive difference between the original (which I did get running quite recently) and this version. Just to warn you, the GOG installer installs the ORIGINAL version of Shadow Man, you need to manually force it to install the Remastered version from the WEBSITE version of your Library - NOT through GOG Galaxy. This for me overcame ALL of the DirectX errors people have been struggling with. Hope that helps someone out.

timeless classic

Mysterious game from my youth that I was always curious about. I played the Nightdive release and felt it was too much, but with the remastered release, the game is in a state thats intuitive and genuinely fun to play.

The game is incredible, the type of games that are no longer made, a dark adult atmosphere with steampunk touches, a very mystical, dreamlike and prophetic story. The level design will blow your mind. A kind of Tomb Raider and Metroid from beyond the grave Voodoo
