It is designed around the idea of "being thrown into the world". Isolated and lost inside this dream-like world, you will explore different interconnected regions in a non-linear fashion. The unsettling environment is a character itself.
Every location contains its own theme (story), puzzles and characters that are integral in creating a cohesive world. Throughout the game you will open up new areas, acquire different skill sets, weapons, various items and try to comprehend the sights presented to you.
GAMEPLAY FEATURES
COHESIVE "LIVED-IN" WORLD Scorn takes place in an open-ended world with different interconnected regions. Each region is a maze-like structure with various rooms and paths to discover. All the storytelling happens in-game, with no cut-scenes to distract you from the grisly reality of the living, breathing world you’re in. But keep your eyes open - the game won’t show you any sympathy if you miss something important on your uneasy travels.
FULL BODY AWARENESS
Players will experience better immersion being aware of the character’s body and movement. Interaction with the world is realistic - objects are picked up with your hands (instead of just floating in midair), machines and instruments are operated by grabbing the controls, etc.
INVENTORY AND AMMO MANAGEMENT
Your loadout is defined and limited. This plays a big role in keeping the player in an even greater state of awareness throughout the whole game. Players will have to think about when to fight and when to take cover and how their actions affect the world around them. Different play styles will be needed to advance.

A short "walking" sim with some light puzzle/combat mechanics and visuals/body horror likely inspired by HR Giger and David Cronenberg. The game has no story. I think this could work very well in a shortform movie format, like an anthology.
There is not much game to speak of as it is mostly the visuals that is ment to take center stage, but it all blends together because of the murky coloring and repeating patterns, leaving only the last part of the game being really interesting, to me at least.
If you are a fan of the aforementioned artists art and would like to see it close-up, then give this a go, but if you are seeking a "real" game, give it a pass.
I would like to see more from this creator.
This game had a bunch of new ideas I haven't seen before in gaming and it looks like concept art come to life. It is beautiful, mystical and highly original, yet it does have a logic. The puzzles make sense even if you don't always know what exactly you're doing. On the downside, the gameplay mechanics and dealing with enemies is annoying. Truthfully this game would have probably been better with even less enemies (maybe just keep the boss fight). Reloading guns, getting up after a fall and moving around is all very slow which can be frustrating. In general however, this game is definitely worth going through the little annoyances. It transports you to a fully realised world like you've never seen before.
I really wanted to like this game, but it just isn't working out. The art direction and atmosphere are there, but its issues really knock the wind out of you.
The biggest detractor for me is the combat; it does practically nothing to warrant its inclusion, and I can't help but feel the game would have been much better without it. Puzzles are another sore spot; they're often very long-winded regardless of complexity and don't feel satisfying to complete given how tiresome they tend to be. Areas traversed are also very complex and confusing and offer no guidance, such as a map; I personally had little issue with them, but they are undoubtedly going to compromise the experience of many.
Ultimately, the game drags and feels like a slog given these shortcomings, completely negating any joy to be found in its unique concepts and visual quality. It is at its best when you're moving along and watching the story unfold, but the bulk of what you do feels like no more than busywork. If the game had no combat and reworked puzzles, being focused more on exploration, I'd likely give it four out of five stars, but as it is, it can be borderline painful to play and likely not worth your time. There's a ton of potential here, but sadly not much more.
