Description
Satellite Reign is a real-time, class-based strategy game. You control a team of four agents, each with distinct and unique abilities, collectively battling for control of a simulated, living cyberpunk city.

Customise your team with the strength to destroy your enemies head-on, or hack into their facilities to manipulate their infrastructure without them ever knowing you were even there.

Will you take down your enemies with brute-force? Covert espionage and infiltration? Or will you use propaganda to influence the citizens of the city and overthrow the controlling powers?

The world's governments are controlled by mega-corporations, democracy to the highest bidder. Society is structured for the benefit of those in power. The poor exist in the dark squalid underbelly of the city, while the wealthy swim in opulence and luxury on the upper tiers, and the vast middle-class are too comfortable with their lives of convenience to see the world for what it really is. Corporate police patrol the streets, brutally maintaining the status quo, all under the guise of keeping the people safe. The time for change is now, as a mysterious organisation rises from the slums of the city. They'll have to bribe, steal, hack, kill and augment their way through the barriers between them and their ultimate goal...but what are they trying to achieve? To free the masses from the corporate stranglehold, or to take control for themselves? That, is up to you.

Great idea but poor execution

This game has a great premise with great systems etc. etc. but all this is ruined by bugs and inconsistent behaviour. Things dont always happen how they should and this makes an already hard game very frustrating. The saves are drawn out, which makes this worse. You will get right near the end of a mission and then you are spotted by a guard out of line of sight in a kinda impossible way. Then your whole plan is blown and you need to start again or hope to get out by force. With some more patches, I hope that this can be improved...but the game has already been in development for years so I am not holding my breath. I loved Syndicate as a kid and wanted to love this too....but I am left frustrated and cheated by the game and its broken mechanics. Also regarding difficulty... i am a casual player and they should really have a way to scale difficulty. I understand some people want hardcore.....so just offer different difficulty settings rather than forcing everyone to play at the same level.

Stylish but need LOTS of polishing

Game involves you by really good looking city, good music, great design and loveable details. You will spot many ways to complete the missions, you will enjoy diverse districts and will fall in love with every citizen you will meet. And you will forgive those routine fights, lack of creativity in story and completely empty, simple quests. But then you will see BUGS, lots of them. Those naughty little situations which completely destroys mood. Notning critical but annoying. Annoying till you start hating your stupid agents, which continiously shoot into walls and do retarted things! Bugged pathfinding near different objects, stucked enemies, selection problems etc. Then you will spot problems in overall game balance. You will start with stealth, then you will suffer from useless agents and constant reloading will be your best friend. When you will level up you can forget about stealth at all because you have big guns and lots of the same quests to do! Do i need to say somethig about combat? It`s bad. There is cover system but agents shoot at retarted AI over occupied cover just standing still. Intense combat situations affect game perfomance at usability level. Boring. And after all of it I got really messed up ending! It`s not bad, but it was not tested and polished as it should be.

Controls ruin the game

Frustrating controls make this game hard to keep playing. After messing up with the controls repeatedly, then a funky save system that does not return you to last save position, it's just an exercise in frustration. Wait for a major sale before trying this one.

Underrated title

I'm and old gamer and quckly loose interest in most games, but this one I played all the way till the end. With it's beautiful visuals and athmosphere it is a valid successor to Syndicate title. I just want to correct few reviews I found here: - game is NOT purely stealth. At first I was struggling trying to accomplish missions in stelth mode, then I discovered that with "mind control" I can recrute a dozen of enemy soldiers and shoot my way trough the missions. Don't have plasma minigun? Invest in your character skills and hijack and control enemy that has one! - missions do require some planning and thinking, but you can still enjoy good old Syndicate-style shooting - there is no pause option mid fight, but there is simple open mod that enables that function - in the end choose weather you want to break in enemy's compound unnoticed or you want to rush in with 10+ soldiers you control Only cons: - Though every sector is different, facilities more demanding and enemies balanced with progression of your characters, missions seem somewhat repetative (rob a bank, eliminate target, rescue hostage...) - game is great, but not original. didn't pay too much attention to the story, but I remember I was dissaponted how it ended. Either way, this is the title I'd recomend.

There's a good game under the confusion

Older players like myself may have fond memories of Syndicate; this looks like a good spiritual successor on paper, but unfortunately it isn't quite that. As others have mentioned, combat is often not in your favor. Your team isn't bankrolled by a large syndicate; you lead a group of hired guns, contracted to lead an audacious campaign which ends up dealing with the established powers-that-be. There's some flavor text in the game but I found it too divorced from the gameplay; basically you can ignore the "news articles" since they have little bearing on anything except giving you lore. The gameplay itself is where most players take issue. As mentioned, going in guns blazing is swiftly punished. While it seems designed to let you churn through clones, I find it's a lot better to conserve the great stats you get from rare individuals with high stats you manage to hijack, rather than repeatedly discard low quality clones. It's a lot safer to play stealth - and this pretty much negates the use of most weapons you ever research and buy. I got through the entire game using silenced pistols - see, pistols have unlimited ammo while other weapons don't. It then becomes obvious that, since going in loud will get you punished very quickly, going in quiet is the way to go. And this is probably where a lot of players expecting a Syndicate successor feel wronged. There's a decent variety of weapons, but actually using them is often a bad idea. There isn't much variety in augs and gear, and even this suffers from "X is clearly better than the rest" syndrome, though to be fair different playstyles will have different X. You unlock gear by having them awarded as mission rewards, though the Black Market tries to help by making random pieces available over time. This does lead to uneven playthroughs though - e.g. if you unlock good armor late, your early game will be frustrating. Not a bad game, but not quite what people were expecting.
