One of the top five adventure games
I can only think of a couple of of games that have really had an emotional effect on me. This is the prime one. It has to be experienced to be believed. it sounds like a cliche, but they don't make games like this anymore. And they never will. Play it.

Great adventure!
Loved the creepy and crazy story. Graphics are also pretty good i think. Only thing I didn't like was the controls. Really annoying at times to control the character. Especially in the Mayan Maze. Point and click would be great to have as an option at least.

In shock!
Sanitarium is an excellent adventure game, it's like no other game I've played before. Even if the gameplay mechanics are those of a classic point and click game, the atmosphere is really unique. The isometric view allows a full appreciation of the game design and a clear gameplay. Even though the game is very creepy, there is still something of a fairy tale to it. The background story is really interesting and sort of beautiful. Love it.

A mystery of the mind
Sanitarium was one of the first games I got on the PC, and it still remains one of the best point-and-click adventure type of game since then, the story leaves keeps you guessing what is going on, whatever or not the protagonist is insane, with each flashback being a small piece to understand who the main character is and why is he experiencing all the events of the game, which by the end comes full-circle and explains just about everything making a second play-thru even more enlightening than the first. It's truly an incredibly well thought out game, with an excellent and memorable psychological story-line that should not be missed.
