Saints Row: Gat out of Hell

I don't have much to say about it. The story is great and the action very fun (and intense). I'd reccomend this for all who'd seek a fun, choatic shooter.

So far, this is the only Saints Row game that didn't have bugs or constantly crash on me. This one actually had fun challenges that didn't seem too repetitive and glitchy. Getting to play as both Johnny and Kinzie was also fun, but it did suck that this is the ONLY SR game that didn't have any kind of character customization or alternate clothing options. I mean, it was hell, and there wasn't even the option to earn outfits through missions or activities, despite not being able purchase any suits in game with wages. That part was lame, but the rest of the game was original and entertaining.

no one ever told me this was a fking musical?!?!?!?! big surprise there, laughed at first but as it dragged on it just became annoying. fun game though, no loading issues, max graphic settings, max resolution. no issues. xbox controller compatible, PS controller yes but the anolog sticks are inverted. and yes i do mean both anolog sticks are inverted (PS4 contrtoller). other than that its basically for but in hell.

Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell is a standalone expansion of Saints Row IV. This time, instead of being the president of the united states plugged into the matrix by aliens, you play as an established character saving the custom protagonist of the previous games from being married off to Satan's daughter. This is achieved by doing things to annoy Satan until you've sufficiently ticked them off to open the final boss. I do appreciate a game that doesn't force you to do anything specific. You could recruit all the side characters and do their missions, or maybe you'll just get into sandbox hijinks for 6 hours. Engaging with the content gets you extra powers and weapons, but you don't actually need any of them to do the final battle. Not as much freedom as Breath of the Wild for speed-running the plot, but at least it makes sure you've got the basics down before the final showdown. This is the kind of sandbox game I miss. A story that doesn't take itself too seriously, a good movement system (you're basically superman) and an assortment of fun powers and weapons. For someone who remembers the PS3 generation, it's like a mixture of Infamous: Festival of Blood and Just Cause 2. Only real detractor is it doing that thing where you pick you're ending from a list and if you're anything like me the first thing you'll do on finishing is look up the alternate endings on YouTube. If you liked the cathartic experience of GTA Vice City/San Andreas and haven't tried Saints Row, it's worth trying For anyone who hasn't played before and wants the full experience, I'd recommend going back to Saints Row II and starting from there (The game titled "Saints Row" on most stores is actually a franchise reboot and doesn't tie into the other games. The developer doesn't seem to include the original in bundles maybe there's a license issue?) but finishing IV would be bare minimum to get what's going on since Gat Out of Hell doesn't spend any time on recapping.

Awful premise, stupid concept, complete mockery of what Saints Row used to be. And one of the most extraordinarily buggy games I've played. I made it about 15 minutes in before running into a game-breaking bug of getting stuck in the options menu for Audio and Display. In audio none of my controllers inputs were doing anything, switching to the keyboard pressing esc wouldn't get me out of the menu. I had to go click on "esc back" in the menu to get out. I go to the Display settings and the same exact problem occurs. Except this time even clicking the esc button on screen won't let me exit the menu. The entire game softlocks. What a cruel punishment for just trying to turn on subtitles. Did they even test this before releasing it? Save your money, just go back and play Saints Row 2.
