Barely Functional Port
To preface, I LOVE Saint's Row 1-3, and SR2 is EASILY my favorite game in the series—on console. The best game in the franchise, with the worst possible port imaginable. The game is literally unplayable for me with a controller, the way the game was clearly intended to be played. I can't get past the main menu because simply plugging in my controller causes an endless scrolling through the main menu that I cannot stop by any means other than Alt + F4. The game is not FUNCTIONAL with my controller as even if the eternal scrolling wasn't an issue, the gamepad mapping straight up doesnt work, and I've tried numerous controllers and controller emulations. The KBM controls are so unintuitive and uncomfortable, its insane. R to accelerate and Space to reverse by default is quite possibly the most headscratching decision for driving controls, I can't wrap my head around it. That is one example, all of the KBM mappings are similarly obtuse, which adds to the frustration of literally not being able to use my controller. Also get used to alternating between WASD and Arrow keys SEPARATELY to navigate menus, it's impossible to change these keybinds. The game also suffers from frequent crashing and performance issues. Framerate is inconsistent and choppy, and borderless fullscreen is not an option. For some reason the intro credit rolls of the developers and publishers does not play through my headphones, but through my speakers. It is the only part of the game that does this, and I do not know why. I've begun experimenting with mods to alieve some of the issues, still to no success. This port is taking more effort than it's honestly worth just to get the game in a functional state, so unless you're willing to go out of your way to fix every problem this port has through mod support and unofficial patches, I would stay away from this port. If you have the consoles, you're better off hunting down a Xbox 360 or PS3 copy. Again: incredible Saint's Row game, terrible port.

One of the Best
Tiltle says it all, really. Truly legendary this game. Easy to mod too.
