Not all wars are fought on the open battlefield. Download The Saboteur to visit 1940s Nazi-occupied Paris, as you play tough Irish racecar mechanic Sean Devlin. Working with the French Resistance, Sean is out for revenge against ruthless Nazi Colonel Kurt Dierker, who executed Sean’s best friend.

This open-world action thriller takes you through the seedy streets of Paris as you seek to undermine the German authority and lead a rebellion. Fight across rooftops and through dangerous alleys, and operate a wide variety of vehicles as you navigate your terrain. You can even climb the Eiffel Tower or Notre Dame Cathedral for a sniping mission.

Use stealth and disguise to strike at the heart of the Nazi war machine by disabling trains, destroying bridges, and blowing up enemy facilities. As you work to remove the oppressive forces from parts of the city, the drab black-and-white palette gives way to bright colors, signifying that you’ve inspired the townspeople. The more you incite the people, the more they’ll aid you by intervening in fights or providing a quick getaway from pursuing Germans. The Saboteur presents a fresh take on World War II and features dramatic cinematic elements. The action and intrigue is yours to experience via download on the PC now.

Key features:

  • First Ever Open-World Paris — Climb the Eiffel Tour, snipe from Notre Dame Cathedral, and brawl on the Champs d’Elysee as you sabotage your enemies. • The Art of Sabotage — Being the Saboteur is all about attacking while staying unnoticed. Get your mission intel at underground clubs and cabarets. Eliminate your adversaries with stealth attacks, disguise, distractions, and explosives. Master a variety of weapons, automobiles, and skills to sabotage enemy operations.
  • The Will to Fight — An action-packed experience and thrilling storyline are made even more engaging by an innovative visual style, characters, and the new “Will to Fight” technology. • French Resistance Strikes — Call for support from The Underground in the form of getaway cars, weapon deliveries, distractions, and much more.

Great open-world game

This was one of the earlier open-world games, and it really delivered the goods. Having each section of the city get progressively brighter and more colorful as you slowly liberate it works great and is very satisfying. Like the Just Cause series, the map is loaded with tons of interactive "events", and while they do get repetitive, many of them force you to consider new strategic possibilities. In the early part of the game, targets are easy to sneak up to, and hiding places are always pretty close. In the later game, many of the targets you encounter require some planning to sneak into and set charges without being seen. That said, it's perhaps a little too easy to just ignore stealth entirely and go in guns blazing, destroy the target, then run away and hide. I certainly found the game much more interesting by challenging myself to finish eash area without being noticed. Here and there I found targets that I absolutely could not figure out how to sneak into, so it's good that a "louder" approach still works. Overall, it's a less polished open-world game than more recent Assassin's Creed games, but it's still quite appealing. The milieu is great, the recreation of Paris is great, and there are plenty of cool things to discover and collect along the way. Well worth your time!

Random Aggro destroys the game

I love the concept of the game. But the stealth in the game is so difficult, even on casual difficulty, that it destroyed the game for me. I'm walking down a street, with no weapon, alongside dozens of NPC's. I walk past a couple Germans, and they almost immediately start shooting. It's a shame. I think the game could be fun, but the detection is broken, IMO. Sure, if I'm sneaking or acting suspicious, or even running, I could see the Germans getting suspicious, but if I'm walking along just like all of the other citizens, it breaks the immersion that the Germans just suddenly start shooting at me while other civilians walk by the same spot unmolested.

Tedious

There seems to be a lot of love for this game, but I struggle to understand why. It's a pretty generic tale of revenge, in a generic open world, with generic nazies, and endless things to blow up. Blowing things up is satisfying but quickly becomes tedious; it's always the same. Place explosives, watch explosion, repeat. Blowing everything up doesn't have much impact, so the missions become the driving force of the game. It's a game that will take a long time to complete, repeating the same few tasks over and over. Began to feel more like a chore then a game.
