Not bad
This isn't a bad game, I had fun playing it, loved the graphical style and also the story was ok, however all seemed unpolished for me. I didn't liked the saving system, the graphics are ugly if something is viewed from a distance (ex: looking down to the buildings from the Eiffel tower, very ugly). Not to mention some little (but very annoying) things such as the tank can't go through some boxes...

Worthy of an HDR remake
I was skeptical of the game when I first got it, second hand from a bargain reseller for a fiver. I thought it would just be one of those random time wasters that hasn't got any compelling story or gameplay, just a bit of fun running and gunning nazis around Paris. I was surprised by the level of depth this game had to offer! The first thing you will notice when you're in Paris is the dark and melancholy art style. It's black and white and the only colour is bright red on German flags and such creating a stark contrast. It makes you truly feel oppressed and imprisoned (kinda sin city). When you free an area under occupation for the resistance suddenly the world gets colourful! But only in that area. Just that as a concept blew my mind and made me ignore the repetitive gameplay and the unforgiving mechanics. I am sure this game deserves a proper remake or a rethink with full HDR support and tweaking the mechanics.

Underrated gem
I didn't know about this game until recently and after beating it I'm ashamed to have missed out on it all there years. It has a great World War II set story, a great black and white aesthetic, and one of the few Irish video game protagonists. The open world gameplay compliments the story and setting, I found the combat and climbing mechanics fun, albeit with the occasional jank, though that's to be expected with games as old as this (12 years old at this point, sort of unbelieveable). It's a shame that EA shut Pandemic down and this game never got a sequel especially since, without spoiling anything, it does end on a sequel hook. If any of this sounds intriguing to you I would definitely check this game out, it goes for very cheap on sales.

A gem that still holds up to this day.
The Saboteur is a game where you work to liberate Paris from Nazi Germany. A mix between GTA and Assassin's Creed, you could say it's like a WW2 Watch Dogs. You will do missions helping the resistance, mostly assassinations and sabotage obviously. It has a great aesthetic; occupied zones are all in black and white with the only color being red (accentuating flags and armbands) and as you liberate the city, you see all the colors coming back. It offers great contrast as you really feel oppressed in the dark, "rainy feeling" areas and then you see them after beating the nazis which just feels so good. Of course, being like I said a GTA/AC hybrid, you will get all sorts of vehicles and weapons to do the job (including stolen tanks which you can bring back to your garage and call for delivery later on and the use of AA guns) and you can climb, useful to infiltrate or snipe from rooftops. You will also unlock perks and resistance help as you progress, something I always find exciting. Last but not least, the soundtrack really puts you in the mood with a lot of jazz or cabaret music. Having played it at release on PS3 and multiple times up to last year on PC, I can tell you that it is still very fun to play and can stand proudly among more modern games.
