The game may have a few flaws, but it is still one of the most enjoyable managerial simulation games that I have ever played. I put over 20 hours in the game and I'm still not bored. You should check this game out if you're interested in where the Rollercoaster Tycoon franchise first started. Otherwise, you should play the second game which fixes all the flaws and annoyances with this game.

I purchased this game for my sister who played it 20 years ago. She enjoyed a lot and completed all scenarios in the end. Thanks GoG for bringing joys from past.

i've been playing this now for over 50 hours so i'm happier to write a review about it. gameplay is as i remember from playing it growing up, dynamics are still the same etc, if only for it being easier than it was when i was younger! a very good time-passer without requiring too much brainpower to complete scenarios once you've got the knack. i'm playing on a windows 11 laptop (with ryzen 5000-7) & it runs ansolutely fine. occasionally gets stuck in a small windowed mode but it is resolvable - sometimes it sorts itself out, sometimes you have to swap it into windows 98 compatibility mode & back again. if i unplug my charger it crashes so make sure you've saved your game before doing that. sometimes it gives me double layered text which i havent worked out how to fix (or why it happens) but its not a major issue so i can just ignore it. i play it in the original resolution (i.e. not widescreen) and don't notice the black bars on the side once i've started playing.
