Rise of Industry

I'm not good at writing long and deep reviews so I'll keep it short : -the gameplay is fun to me, yes some things are missing, the game is not Early access for nothing, plenty to do and learn for now, I stick to easy difficulty mode until I get a better hand at this kind of game -regarding balancing and competition versus ia, it's evolving a lot between patches, during the writing of this review a patch moving in the tech tree a whole lot of building and what they can build at first was being uploaded for example, and it was including suggestions from players -I like a lot the visual look of the game, not finished too but before this game I was playing Industrial Giant 2, and I actually prefer the look of Rise of Industry, but you can see that with the videos and screens -more graphs and options to monitor our business are coming, for now it's not that easy to find financial related problems -The tutorial is short for now but it does the job just fine, the recipe book is not finished yet, a little coumbersome to use for now (what can I do with this or that ?) TLDR : missing components as it is early access, but good communication between players and devs and already great game, you cant wait until it's more finished but I don't regret at all my purchase

This game has great potential but currently doesn't feel "alive". - AI is still being worked on - Menus need a better interface with each other or a way to optimize the player's input - The tech tree needs to be balanced to become more diverse - Micromanaging is great for this type of game but needs to be reduced as the game goes on

An interesting mix of traditional transport tycoon esque games with a focus on the Industrial manufacturing process, much like Industry Giant. The core idea is to get rich through manufacturing and growing products that the local towns put in demand (each city has different tastes) and grow tall and wide, eventually to the point of having entire industrial complexes with truck, ship, rail and air hubs bringing in raw materials and sending out goods. The simple and stylised visuals and great music help sell the setting of an early 1900s industrial world, ripe for exploitation. Being in Early Access, the game still has a ways to go before it is feature finished, but I've considered it very playable for months now, with frequent patches from the developers. Note: Beta tester but paid for game access like everyone else.

Game is unplayable on Ubuntu. Game crashes when launching tutorial. Contacted customer support, and they were of no help.
