Return of the Obra Dinn

At its core it is a soduko/elimination puzzle cranked up to, well, 60. As there's 60 fates to investigate. Sometimes, you can get lucky and someone will call out to someone in the moment of their demise (which you can see as a still image you can walk around in, all rendered in glorious 2-bit dithered graphics which looks really really cool). And it's easy to figure out who they called out to. Other times, your only hope is finding indirect clues (the game basically assumes this guesswork to be correct) like someone wearing particular clothing or showing an item on them which you could see among the belongings of someone given by name earlier. And yet again, sometimes all you can do is eliminate options until only one remains. It is nothing short of amazing. It's a genuinely great puzzler with a light but servicable (carries the gameplay well even in any case) background and story, a really unique and fitting (it is set in 1807) presentation and an incredibly attention to detail. If you, **at all**, enjoy puzzles, get this one. My contender for GOTY 2018 so far!

I had more fun with this game, than with most AAA games i played this year. Don't let the visuals fool you, once you get immersed in the plot you'll forget the game is monochromatic. Not once i had difficulties to recognize what the game wanted me to see. But i'm also falling into the trap: limiting this game to it's unique look. Return if the Obra Dinn offers an intriguing gameplay that stands on its own. Only thing that I disliked, was that i could't modifiy the controls of the game. I'm a lefty and i hate being forced to use WASD, however that is not a thing that would lower my rating

This is one of the best Crime-Thriller Games I've played. It has great Mechanics and a lot of unraveld mysteries. Nothing is like it seems to be and no one will help you to solve what happend back there. You are totally on your own and it is wonderful. I really enjoy this game and hope, that the developers will keep up their wonderful work. The only bad thing is now that ... I want a new case ;D

Game is awesome! I was literally dancing everytime I got correct answers. The only problem can be visual style, it looked great in a trailer, but in real gameplay it can be heavy on your eyes, but thankfully there are some options to change. Personally I would recommend sharp + LCD. Anyway, looking forward for the next game from Lucas Pope!

This is what all murder mystery games should be like. This game invites you to solve mystery after mystery without holding your hand or without depending on game mechanics. It's all up to your deduction and attention to details to puzzle all the pieces together. This game deserves to be played by anyone who wants to feel like a detective and take their time to unravel a mystery envolving dozens of character most of which you will remember after spending so much attention investing in the cause of their disappearance
