The strongest of the original trilogy
Resident Evil 3 is the strongest of the original trilogy - while Resident Evil 2 is a strong game, Resident Evil 3 gives you a lot of location variety as you actually traverse Raccoon City and get to see what has happened, unlike the prior two games which occur mostly in one location. Resident Evil 3 adds the dodge mechanic and 180 quick-turn, making the gameplay much more fluid and dynamic. The gun powder mechanic is also welcomed, as it allows the player to decide what ammo they are granted when they play the game, which means if you prefer to blow things up with the shotgun, pop heads with the magnum, or simply just want simple handgun action, the reloading tool allows you to make these decisions instead of being restricted purely to what ammo is dotted around. The game keeps you on your toes with the Nemesis enemy, who doesn't have to be fought but can be for powerful goodies - so it's entirely up to you how you approach the game. There's a couple of decisions to be made too which affect other things, and each run is also slightly different as numbers and whatnot change. The mercenaries mode in this game is also unlocked straight away and is a lot of fun. A fantastic port of Resident Evil 3 - don't miss it.
