A trip back in time
Besides a few changes from the original PS game, this is what I remember from 1996. The door opening is faster. No ink ribbons. But the feeling is there, and that's what matters. The experience is well worth the money in sentimental value. But a newcomer might enjoy the Gamecube remake more.

The Beginning
This game is the beginning of what started my love for survival horror . i believe i had just turned 7 when resident evil director's cut would release 1 month later , my parents just moved in to the house they had built and my dad bought a ps1 from walmart with resident evil , i believe croc , and crash . my dad bought the guide for this game and i remember watching him play this game in the bedroom on the old big Nob tv . my brother and i would try to play this game and the Hallway was what really got us freaked out lol . the graphics back then were mind blowing and we would always battle who would have to go through there for the jumpscare .

Where it all began...
Although extremely dated with it's visuals, fixed camera angles, tank controls and cheesy voice acting (which is also part of it's charm), Resident Evil is a must play for any survival horror fan. To this day it's still a good combination of action, exploration and puzzle solving, A fairly lengthy adventure that includes 2 playable characters with different abilities who encounter different characters and situations, adding to the game's replay value.
