GOG did a good on not so great PC port
The original PC port of Resident Evil was not great at the time. It did come with extra weapons, outfits, and uncensored Japanese cutscenes, but it was lacking compared to the console versions. Also, running the original PC port on modern hardware is almost impossible from my experience. However, GOG did a good job making sure this version runs on modern hardware with only a few hiccups. It now has native controller support for PC and Xbox controllers with remapping. There are also extra graphics options like adding anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering. The best part is that I can now install the game, have it boot right up, and work for me. The only issue I had was gameplay being sped up, which is fixed by capping the FPS. I'm playing the game on window 11, with 4070, 13th Gen Intel Core i7 just fine. At the end of the day, you're getting a good PC version of one of the best survival games, thanks to GOG. Now give us 4,5,6 and maybe outbreak. Haha
