I've stopped buying games through here due to the fact that CD Projekt Red lies through their teeth. I bought this because having a digital installer for the classic RE games was appealing. They couldn't even do that. Game has crashed several times just getting to the menu. However 5 minutes of some simple config and my CD version still works on Windows 11. Just excuse yourselves to the landfill already GoG. It's where you belong.

all the playstation babies complaining they want this version. they have the best director's cut version. this is worse no enhancements. its the exactl vanilla game from 96. only thing uncut is the cutscenes while all the gameplay features of the directors cut is still missing... and this is not the 1997 DC version its the barebones 96 OG. not worth 8.99 when you can play the mediakite modded with the DC content and better. already asked for my refund. RE DC was released in the UK and the US in 97. if yoru expecting the full package your outta luck. and is not worth crying over spilled milk if your a Playstation owner when you can get the RE DC for PS1.

It is incredible that we users have to download mods only for at least a full screen and better textures, I think GOG could have enabled the 2 options, playing with classic resolution and playing with improvements, the configurations that the game brings or supposed improvements , they are of no use, it is incredible that in duckstation better textures and full screen are achieved than in this version, it is noted that GOG only copied and pasted, the PC win 95 version, without gnas, just to collect money by taking advantage of our nostalgia ...this version is very bad, it's not worth a dollar, it's better to play the duckstation version, what a scam and what a theft...

Like other people mentioned already: This is a barebones release of the classic PC US Version, just with a Dirext X 11 Wrapper and better controller support. No other QoL improvements (Doorskip was always available on PC version). The Classic Rebirth Patch is a WAY better experience than this. Can not recommend. Just another Quick Cashgrab by Capcom

"This re-released version of the game was co-developed by GOG." - it is stated on the game's page. So will the game be available in other stores like Steam, Epic Games Store, EA, Ubisoft, etc. or Resident Evil trilogy will be available only in the Gog store? If the answer is yes, and the Resident Evil trilogy will be available in the Gog store only - then you are not better than EGS with its strange politics of exclusivity! P.S. I am almost 100% sure that a lot of bots/users will write something with hate towards my post, so I will be ahead of you all and I will write the next statement - you are fools if you think that every company will be ideal forever. You are lying to yourself if you think so. Gog co. was at some point better than Steam, that is true. But nowadays Steam is much better in many aspects: better Launcher, better prices, better wallet options, better compatibility, and !much! better support. As I understand management and workers changed in the Gog Co. completely, so the company goes down as an elevator whose cable broke and I do not even see where Gog can fall, the chasm is too deep. As a result of all I have mentioned - the inevitable bankruptcy of the Gog company.
