Guns and spells, together again. 3.5/5
(GOG-sized excerpt from my 2003 review.) Stepping through a doorway you find a hulking robot turning to aim its oversized guns in your direction. Your Manoeuvre hot-key is set to Warp Time for emergencies such as this and you activate it. With your sudden advantage over the robot in reflexes and movement you quickly get out of the way before it can open fire on you, and set "To Salt" as your Offensive power while you move. This deadly power is hard to aim from a distance, but your manoeuvrability has allowed you to get more than close enough. The robot freezes in place with a crackling noise, and then rapidly crumbles into small clouds of salt before your eyes. Entering a tall room, you spot a pair of unarmoured guards patrolling the walkway above. You cast a swarm of locusts at one of them, and duck out of view for a few seconds until you are able to cast another at the second. Lacking full-body powered battle armour to protect them, the guards are susceptible to this attack and both fall dead in seconds. Climbing the ladder to the bodies, you pause to Resurrect each guard -- they will now fight for you until they die. You follow the walkway to a door and open it: two more regular guards, and one in battle armour. You cast more locusts at one of the guards, and use your power of 'Insist' to temporarily convert the armoured guard to your cause. You step away and let the door close to avoid being attacked by the third guard, and listen for the gunshots to cease indicating (most likely) that your armoured guard is victorious. Entering the room once more you open fire to kill the coerced guard before the effect wears off. Provided that none of the bodies were in any way dismembered in the fight, you now have three new bodies to add to your Resurrected team. As you exit the far side of the room, gunfire breaks out behind you... it sounds like someone found out that it's hard to to sneak up behind you when your back is covered by trigger-happy walking-dead...
