Realms of the Haunting

This was one of my first games to play back then. Once in a while I dig this out and play it again. Storyline is great, there are some good jump scares, but what I loved most was the creepy, dark atmosphere and amazing world designs. Don't be put off by its apparent pixel-ed graphics, there are some pretty places out there and the story definitely makes up for it. Learn to love Arqua and Raquia, but run from Sheol...

I have owned and played the OG boxed CD version of this classic FMV/FPS and have to say it surprised me by running on up to Win7 and the Steam version on Win10. I am grabbing it here as it will(hopefully) get brought into the GOGs GOG program at some point. It deserves to be perserved as an example of FMV games done right not to mention that the unmodified game ran even on W7 as it is definately a DOS for Windows game in '96, even some later games until maybe 2000 still were DOS based but made to work under W98. A must have for nostalgia and to see what used to be in gaming. And I t is inded a great game!!!

Incredibly atmospheric adventure game not yet surpassed, this game is a credit to creative game development, unique storyline and outstanding gameplay. The combat is fun, the story is long and all consuming, and the sound effects and fmv pull you well into the world. You get lost in it. If you want to know how good games used to be, this is the one to play. The graphics are more of an 'art style' than dated and hold up well for a game from 1996. Massively overlooked at the time with Quake and true 3d games kicking off, this deserves a much needed resurgence, spread the word and credit to Gremlin for risking such a game. An outstanding experience, play it!

I am not surprised to see every review giving this great game 5 stars. I remember playing this game many years ago and promised myself to play through again but at some point I lost the game. Thank you GOG for helping me keep my promise. This really is one of the best games ever.

I got a demo disc of this game when it first came out. I LOVED it! I bought the full version and sadly, I can't play it on the newer windows OS. It's definately worth the price. I think it was one of the first (if not THE FIRST) game to include in-game movie cut scenes. I would recommend this game to anyone!
