Description
REAL BOUT FATAL FURY 2: The Newcomers is the seventh installment in the Fatal Fury fighting game franchise, and was released in 1998. Based on the same game mechanics as previous installments, REAL BOUT FATAL FURY 2: The Newcomers boasts an evolved version of the 2-line battle, as well as many new features such as: "Break Shot" - a guard cancel system that is available for several moves; also, when a character continues walking, their sway line accumulates, and when a character is knocked down, if the player expertly times the gauge and button action, the character will swiftly get back on their feet.
This time around, two newcomers have been introduced: Li Xiang Fei and Rick Strowd. And Geese Howard makes reappearance as playable character.

Undiscovered Gem!

Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 is probably the most underappreciated game in the Fatal Fury series! RBFF2 retains the two plain swapping (a dodge move) and familiar characters of earlier Fatal Fury games. The art style and BGM of RBFF2 are unique to the series and very welcome. The characters are varied in special attacks, combos, appearances, and even personalities. And, as with KOF2002 and Metal Slug 3, Linux and Mac users can now get in on the action. Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 is among the best fighting games out there and a steal at only $6. For two controller versus play: Have 2P press COIN (R Bumper) then START. Kinda like the ol' Neo Geo arcades.

good game garbage emualtor frontend

same issue as with Samurai Showdown 2 and Fatal Fury special. An absolutely useless, rigid, zero effort frontend for this emulated game. Too bad. Game's great, but the publisher really doesn't deserve to be paid for this.

Unplayable on my laptop

The game was super sped up to the point it was unplayable. I did the Vsync trick in my graphic settings and it did not work. There was no online help in Google about adjusting graphics. You also need to have an understanding of configuring files to get the most out of the game (I couldn't configure neogeo.dat) Get this on Switch or Xbox when it comes out and forsake the PC port.
