Enjoyed it a lot in its time

For me "Reah" is the beginning of the most challenging puzzle adventure series, continued with three other Polish games ("Schizm", "Schizm II" and "Sentinel" as I recall), the "Dark Souls" of puzzle gaming - no more no less. Maybe some puzzles are not well designed but it's not a garbage at all. Nice enigmatic atmosphere, very disturbing and inspiring. Glad to see the game on GOG, cannot help recommending it for hardcore players.

Just for the record

There is no multiple endings. There is only one and its not a good one. I own the actual game in my hard copy collection and I'll be the first to say that this game is a terrible train wreck. But the game is absolutely gorgeous regardless. It is worth the headache just to see the games environments. But believe me when I say that the ending is not worth the trouble. The puzzles themselves as well are extremely obtuse giving the player no hints on how to complete them. Also, they're randomized every game. So the blurb that the game has over 100 puzzles is not true in the slightest. Its just the same puzzles with procedural solutions to all of them. Buy only if you love first person point and click adventure games. Otherwise, skip this.

A bit disappointing.

Reah is an old time point and click puzzle game in the style of MYST. Realsed in 1998, Reah tells the story of an adventurer (you) an his hourney through a strange and unique world. The graphics are descent even by todays standards, however, there is no way to change the resoluiton from the old 800x600 to anything sharper so the game does look a bit dated. Most of the puzzles are well thought out and logical, although I did run into a few of puzzles that seemed to be a bit misleading (which I hate) and a couple that were timed (which I despise). All in all, Reah is a descent game for the time, however, I am unable to finish because one of the last puzzles in the game, a half circle of balles, each with a different symbol, is too hard for me to do. The object is to repeat the pattern 3 times, like SIMON. Unfortunetely, the patterns appear and disappear so fast that I don't have anytime to register anything more than 2 patterns. "Why?" you may ask. This is because I had a stoke some time ago and I can't process information that fast. Very frustrating to say the least. Because of the insanely fast puzzle and the fact that some of the puzzles are intentionally misleading along with the times puzzles, I can only give this game 2 stars.

argh

I should have heeded the critical reviews. It was a fairly enjoyable game, although the puzzles often seemed illogical enough to resort to a walkthrough - if only to make sure I'd got the idea. However, I didn't bother to finish the game because the end section was such an infuriating waste of time. The last three puzzles before the end game were so random, time consuming and repetitive that I lost all interest in knowing the outcome. I wouldn't reccomend Reah to anyone who loathes trial and error or wasting time on repetitive random actions

Good game

Amazing Myst-like that does its own thing. Very puzzle-focused. A couple of puzzles are a little annoying but overall a great experience.
