In Rayman’s world, nature and people live together in peace. One day, the evil Mr. Dark defeats Betilla, the Fairy, and steals the Great Protoon, the provider of harmony and balance. The Electoons who used to gravitate towards it lose their natural stability and scatter all over the world. Strange phenomena begin to occur: freaks and hostile characters appear, capturing every Electoon they can find! The disappearance of the Great Protoon also neutralized all of Betilla’s powers, and she needs time to regenerate before she can help in any way. They definitely need a hero to save them, and it looks like you’re it. It’s now up to Rayman and you to rescue the world.
This is very frustrating game. This is a 5th gen game that still thought it was acceptable to have limited continues. This game is in every sense difficult. There is also little reason to suffer the frustration. The platforming is pretty standard and can be found elsewhere. The earlier Ristar is superior and is very similar (nearly identical art style, hands that shoot out). There is not even an enticing story to keep you coming back. If you are expecting a masterpiece like Michael Ancel’s other creation, Beyond Good and Evil, you will be sorely disappointed.
Rayman Forever is an excellent game I had when I was a child.
I bought it on GOG, but, guess what, avira finds a virus: W95/CIH !
GOG, you should really check the games you sell...
I love platformers as much as the next guy but I cannot bare to finish this game,
Here's the reasons why:
- This port is terrible, saving the game will result in doubling the speed of the game, music is missing, everytime a level loads the sounds become distorted, frame rate jumps.
- The game is unfairly hard, it wants you to perform extremly precise jumps and tricks but rayman controlls sloppily and isnt suited for pixel perfects tricks resulting in cheap deaths everywhere.
- The amount of difficulty is insane considering this was a game made for a kid audience.
- Just bad, doesnt feel rewarding, you might as well not have a health bar since everything one hits you right away.
- Bosses are easy as a joke.
- when you die it doesnt feel like it is because you werent skilled enough it always feels cheap.
- you have to progress through this game by trials and error all the time because you cant see clearly whats ahead of you and you dont have time to react, so you die and then reajust your jumps to avoir whatever is upcoming ahead of you.
- frustrating game all around
- AWFUL PORT
Honestly make a remake of this game and fix how rayman handles and moves around so that he can be suited for the pixel perfect gameplay.
If i could id give it -1 STARS.
Im gonna stick to rayman 2 and 3 thank you.
