Rayman 2: The Great Escape

Rayman 2: The Great Escape more than earns the great, even though there is actually very little escape happening. Colorful, stylized graphics that allow the game to stand the test of time, responsive controls (though I wish it had some custom keybindings support), a memorable soundtrack... the game is just as good as I remember it being back when I was a little boy.

together with a few mods, -ray2fix -remove pirate head drm - hd textures (using the rayman control panel program, run as admin) the game runs great on windows 11 and looks awsome.

Great classic, needs Rayman2FIX mod to function on w11 and xbox controller.

It is pretty obvious it's an old game will have problems running on the modern hardware. Thankfully, I initially didn't had to do much other than just launch the game didn't had problem running it on Windows 11 right off the box. But for most I would recommend downloading Rayman2FIx mod for further improvement and you can play with your controller as well, given that it's compatible with the mod. The game is hard to play on the keyboard but I am used to it by now but wouldn't recommend as it may not be as comfortable to a gamepad. But the nostalgia is strong with this one and I was too focused in the game to even notice, so there's isn't much to say about the game than it is one of the best platformers out there that have honestly aged quite well. I am glad I can play it again hopefully would stay preserved on GOG for others to enjoy or any other fellow retrogamer.

I played this game waay back on the DC, and I was totally fascinated about it. I couldn't stop playing, and ever since, I am a huge fan of platformers. I have it on Dreamcast, NintendoDS and PC in a disk format, but if i have some spare money I will surely buy it from GoG as well. Hell, you can never have enough Rayman 2 copies laying around, believe me! ;)
