Description
You are a solar powered craft, racing against the sunset at insane speeds. You navigate a procedural landscape that changes every day. You find and collect speed boosts to go even faster and momentarily reverse time. The goal is to increase your score and survive as long as you can without running out of daylight or smashing into pieces. For a change of pace, team-up with other players in an asynchronous relay race.

The Simplex World Creator is included right in the game and allows anyone to make unique new game modes (or modify existing ones) and share them in a special user worlds screen for all to see. The game also includes an extremely difficult world called Apocalypse and a deep player leveling system - with tons of objectives and 25 player levels to unlock. As you unlock items, you can customize your ship with attachments like faster turning, protective shield, and decals.

Overall Race The Sun is a fantastic endless runner style game, a genre which I'm usually not a fan of. It's incredibly addictive and really taps in to that 'one more go' mentality. I really like the visual style of the game and its minimalist graphics and obstacle design come together nicely. The fact the game also manages to feel fresh everyday due to the changing levels is an added bonus, purely because you don't know what to expect.

Do not buy this game

Do not buy this game. It is nothing but an exercise in raging frustration, and you will just wind up putting your fist through your monitor. Slow, unresponsive controls and impossible maneuvers, endless raging deaths, no thank you. This is a reeking pile of garbage.

A DRM game here, of all places???

Wow!. The first (and only, I think) DRM game on GOG. What the hey??? Getting games that AREN'T drm, is the MAIN reason I buy on GOG, and did GOG forget that being DRM free is also part of their selling point?? I don' t get it. Hopefully, this is just a one time fluke, or oversight on GOG's part.

DRM free?

GOG games supposed to be DRM free, but as you can see in the description: "In order to access the multiplayer you must first enter your unique cd-key that can be found under My Account. This key must be redeemed here to create an in-game account." And the link takes me to an external web site to redeem my key, in order to be able tol play. Isn't this a 3rd party DRM scheme? Exactly the same thing that keeps me from buying some games on Steam... no, thanks.
