Very colourful and unique puzzler
I just finished the story mode and played a few short sessions against AI in ... squirmish mode I suppose. In squirmish you can choose against how many (even none) opponents you want to play and cleverness of them ranges from 1 cat to 3 cats. Nice touch. First: The cats only run around, if you wake them up. I did that only once and you can send them back to sleeping at the sides anytime. I like the art, traversing the map (in story mode) and the story are ok and you meet a colorful cast of people. I'm under the impression, the game doesn't take itself too seriously story-wise. You make quilts. You either get to pick up to three task tiles (don't know the specific english word/s) or they are prechosen (story) or none required (story). E.g. one might be AA+BB+CC. That means you have to place tiles around it, that either has 3 doubles for colours (e.g. 2 red, 2 blue and 2 green) or for patterns (e.g. 2 dots, 2 stripes and 2 flowers). You get more points if it is both: 3 doubles for colours and patterns. Some surrounding tiles are shared between task tiles, because they touch both. Laying down three connecting tiles of a colour give buttons and one button of every colour gives a rainbow button. And then there are the cats. The story mode often requires, that you "attract" them. That is done by laying down the desired pattern tiles in the connecting quantity or shape, which ideally (or sometimes required in story mode) fit with the task tiles. It is very hard for me to explain, but it is so very good. It is somewhat like sudoku, where you have to keep the different boxes and lines in mind to solve the whole. In story mode, sometimes you get preset tiles that you need to arrange in a certain way to reach a fix goal. The hint system is flexible in that you get to choose, if you only want the start layed down for you, up to the middle or the end. And then you proceed from there laying down the remaining tiles to reach the goal. If you like sudoku, give it a try.
