Description
Are you feeling adventurous, Hero? The world of Gloriana, with all its wonderful diversity, awaits you. In this pack of five classic Sierra adventure games you will create your character (a warrior, thief, or magic user) and set out on a grand journey for fortune and fame! You will solve quests and puzzles, fight monsters, and save innocents.
In the Quest for Glory pack, which contains all five parts of the classic action RPG games by Sierra, you create your own character, choose his class and abilities and then set out on your grand voyage. Quest for Glory games are universally acclaimed as one of the best adventure games ever developed. After completing a part, you can import your character into the next one, keeping your skills and some special rewards you've hoarded, like magic items.
The story is another of the Quest for Glory series' strong points. It's very solid and immersive, with a light-hearted and humorous narrative that will keep you glued to the screen throughout each of the five installments.
Includes both: VGA and original version of Quest for Glory 1.
Venture across five huge worlds, each based on a different culture and mythology, from Germanic fairy tales, through Arabian and Slavic folklore, right down to Greek mythology.
Three starting character classes to choose from (fighter, magic user, and thief). This decision not only modifies the gameplay but also the story, providing for excellent replayability.
You can transfer your character from one game to the next. The skills and wealth you worked for so hard are not lost!

The Quest for Glory series is fantastic combining the classic adventure game with RPG. Quest for Glory II is my favourite, the last Sierra (or close to it) game to use the keyboard as the main interface before everything switched to point and click. You had to figure out what to "ask about" and "tell about" when interacting with game characters. It immersed you more in the game and made you think of new things to try rather than endlessly clicking through a dialogue tree. AGD interactive has made a VGA version that is free to download. I recommend playing that instead of the original EGA.
Except now, you're in control.
Each and every QFG is unique and endearing in its own way, even the much-debated Quest for Glory 5!
Through each game, you feel yourself (as the hero) growing and changing with each obstacle you overcome, until you have to wave a tearful goodbye and set your hero free.
The Quest for Glory series is unforgettable and definitely adhere to the classic heroic fantasy adventure stories you loved as a child.
Even if you didn't originally grow up with the QFG series (my first QFG was QFG 5, so I'm a little young for the series), there's something for everyone.
It doesn't matter how many times you play them; you'll never get tired. Well at least, I haven't gotten tired of them :3
This is the 3rd time I purchased the complete series. I bought each game as it came out starting from hard disks all the way to CDs. Then I bought the Anthology since my hard disks were outdated. Now, I purchased it all over again on GOG and I have to say the price is well worth it! I do have to say, I also own the QG2 remake which is free to download, but it's nice to own the original again. This bundle purchase comes with QG1 original and remake.
If you've ever played any adventure game and wondered "man, if only I had a weapon, I could totally take those fools on...", THIS was the game that did it! I've always enjoyed the King Quest series and even Space Quest, but in those games you were prone to die easily where as Quest for Glory, combat is a big part of this game which gave you a fighting chance.
I enjoyed how this entire series went through memorable character development with many of the NPCs you interact with. Several of them follow you through the series which gave me a sense of attachment and it gave real meaning to each of your actions and adventures.
In this series, you don't play as a pre-established character, you play as you in a class of your choosing (thief, fighter, magic user). You're not limited to these classes either, I ended up with a paladin magic user with all wizard and paladin spells (mage tank). This series combines adventure, humor, lots of secret Easter eggs, a variation of an ending depending on your actions, complete map exploration and freedom, and much more.
For the price that this is at right now, it is definitely worth adding it to your library!
Choose between Magic User, Thief or Fighter - or mix your skills to be a little bit of everything! This game is great because depending on the "Class" you pick - many of the puzzles are solved differently (which is why I wouldn't recommend mixing your class skills) - because this creates some replayability in how you go about solving things!
This would be five stars, if it wasn't for the second game... More on that.
Charming, funny, and great - this series is wonderful. I'd say the greatest bane to the series is the second one - because wandering through the city - you LITERALLY needed the map out of the city lay out to get to different areas - otherwise you will - without fail - be completely lost in the maze of the tunnels that make up the city (I am assuming this was done as a form of copy protection back then) - which made legitimate players (such as myself, who was an avid Sierra collector back in the day!) suffer the consequence. As a result, the second Quest for Glory is probably the one I play the least because of that. Even with the map it was pretty easy to still get turned around and since all the tunnels look the same, it was often, at that point, easier to restore to before you went in the tunnel and start all over.
