Description
Delve into people's minds as Raz, a powerful young cadet at a psychic summer camp. While working on his merit badge in levitation, Raz discovers that someone is kidnapping psychic children and stealing their brains. To foil this evil plot and earn the title of Psychonaut, Raz must project himself into the mind of one bizarre character after another to battle their nightmares and inner demons. He does all this while continuing to earn psychic merit badges in subjects such as telekinesis, clairvoyance and fire-starting.

The first half of this game is easily one of the most enjoyable I've had in the past year. But as is the case with many humorous games, the laughs begin to fade in the home stretch and in the end Psychonauts started to wear on me.

What's unavoidable is the fact that almost all of the problems that weigh Psychonauts down are borne out of the legacy that the platform genre itself has, and Double Fine - like so many other developers - has largely been unable to avoid falling into the same pitfalls of inconsistent level design and unwise difficulty spikes. Dammit.

Fantastic
I wasn't sure about this game when i heard about it. I then saw someone playing it and slowly i felt that i would like this game, and i was definitely right. This is my favorite game of its type in a long time. would recommend to anyone.

Should you play this now.
Yes, yes and yes. You know its a classic or it wouldn't be on this page. When I was here I was asking, "So how does it play now a days." Now I can tell you. Just finished this and I was blown away by the story and constantly changing gameplay. Those elements have aged nicely. It's not so old that it breaks on newer systems, and up it to 1080p and it looks nice enough graphically. However, I quickly abandoned the poor mouse emulation and keyboard for an xbox 360 controller. A must.

A must buy
A fun game, an interesting idea, and a summer camp. This game has all you ever want and need. With a full voice cast and a fun fighting system, this game is fun to play and fun to watch. The visuals are really good, especially for the era it was released in. Also, it's hilarious so you should buy this game. Psychonauts is just one of those games that sticks with you even if it wasn't your favorite game. Stop thinking about it, buy it today!

Everything you ever wanted
Guys, I have the hugest boner for this game right now. Psychonauts is not only original, with exceptionally excellent game play, an intriguing storyline, unique and distinguished characters, and all the coolest powerups and unlocks you could ask for, but it also has tits; huge, glorious tits. Did you like Banjo-Kazooie? Fuck Banjo-Kazooie, buy this game. (I didn't mean it Banjo, please take me back!) For real though, most unique game worlds I have ever experienced, and a game that will not be able to put down until you finish, and maybe not even after that.
