Project Wingman

As a newcomer to these kinds of games, I really enjoyed my time with Project Wingman - even without having played the Ace Combat games, the quality speaks volumes as to the effort of the devs when you can understand how others say it "feels" to play. The only downside I would say this game has is the story, but it's a drop in the ocean compared to this glistening sea of a game. Highly recommended for anyone with even just a passing interest. Definitely will be keeping an eye on any future games from Sector D2.

I have not played a good arcade flight sim in a long time; in fact I have not played a great one in a long time. Enter The Wingman Project. I love this game so much I went out and bought a Thrustmaster flight control package for it. This game takes me back to the good old days when there were flight sims like this being released every month. I don't have much to complain about, I can forgive the so-so voice acting and the sometimes-campy content. Ultimately, flying the jets, dogfighting, and taking out ground targets to complete a mission is an absolute blast! No need for those silly g-forces damaging your jet or knocking your pilot out, just take it to the danger zone (speaking of campy). There are lots of great jets to choose from, but you will have to complete missions to purchase them. The performance and weapons array for each jet are very noticeable and will affect the outcome of your mission. Look at the mission briefing and choose carefully. I love the freedom to complete a mission as I see fit. Want to focus on all the ground targets first? Go right ahead. Feel like locking on to whatever jumps in front of your HUD, go for it! Your team is with you and will help but really you are the star fighter pilot and must carry the team to complete the mission. There are lots of interesting and a wide variety of targets that you must deal with in this game. I recommend playing this game on Hard mode. I am an experienced sim pilot but normal is just too easy for things like dodging missiles, enemy planes and ground fire.

Project Wingman is a fantastic combat flight simulator. It wears its Ace Combat inspiration on its sleeve, but brings its own style into the mix. Fans of the genre should definitely check it out.

This game has a lot of jets so you really need to be a fan of jets to enjoy it. Jets are cool and also fun so this game is those things too. Buy it now if you want to be cool and fly awesome jets.

I love this game. As far as single player flight action goes, this is It! the setting is far off, but with mostly recognizable fighters, but with plenty of fantasy. The world is fleshed out just enough and the voice acting is good and the game play is stellar! You advance through a campaign with a story, but there is also a conquest mode and both are amazing. You can only unlock the best craft after beating the story mode once through. There are plenty of modifiers and you are not likely to get bored as there are tonnes of variety from CAS to Naval interdiction, to giant fur balls and even flying battle ships! Buy the game and play it! You will not regret it!
