Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
The gunplay is solid and I like the sound design. It's crunchy and you can feel the impact.
I just got bored with the game halfway. The gameplay is repetitive and there isn't anything but corridor shooting.
While not the most creative game out there, it is basically a Doom clone to the core, its execution is actually quite excellent from start to finish. Satisfactory would be the key word here cause thats how i could describe every aspect of it.
Almost everything about the game is great and because of that I write something on this wall which I usually don't. But two things suck almost every fun out of it and I would really like the game to be fun.
1) Nexus Points...
Seriously, keeping all enemies dead when you die and re-spawn sucks all tension out of it. As the other person said: Difficulty setting doesn't matter at all since death has no consequences. If you have a tough fight, kill one enemy at a time, die and kill the next. Repeat until done.
It just removes ANY incentive for playing well or playing on higher difficulty. Challenge is canceled out.
Please make nexus points regular "Check Points". Or give an option to for that. Or give an option to remove them and add quick-saves... so that enemies reset and you can actually try again where you failed.
Should Nexus Points get fixed I will not hesitate to give 5 stars despite the second issue (which I'd like to see removed as well but yeah ... That might be a matter of taste so I can live with it).
2) Reloading. It's tedious. Nothing more to say about it. The game would be better off without it.
Prodeus takes the good parts of the shooters of the 90's and improves on the less good parts. Visually the game is faux-retro, but mechanically the game feels like 2022. Faster and smoother than most shooters of 2020 this is a great start to what I am sure will be an amazing journey.
I am mostly in it for the campaign, but the community support is already solid with a very strong system for making and distributing new maps in addition to time trials with leader boards.
This game looks amazing, and plays amazing.
Unfortunately no LAN option, with Multiplayer DRM defeats the purpose of a game hosted on GOG.
Please add a local ip / LAN / Dedicated Server.
