If they continue on this course they will have made the best First Person Shooter seen in 20 years. I would say the gameplay is pretty spot on. The Arc-rail gun I think needs a click on, click off zoom mode but that's about it.
There is actually NOT alot of room for improvement because they have made an excellent show of their knowledge of the essential elements of the F.P.S genre, and a good First Person Shooter game.
I did not encounter any bugs or glitches, and in all reality that would be the only thing which could dampen this one. Prodeus is really fantastic, and I suspect the finished version will be as well.
The visuals are a blend of the modern graphical API palette and the classic Build Engine. Easiest way of describing it. The gameplay is very seamless and very pleasing. Level design is great.
Level design, graphics, look and feel are the best we can get!!!
The options are somewhat great to adjust the look of the game to your personal preferences!
I set the resolution option to 360p, "cathode ray tube" instead of native, and FOV 60.
Developers: I would love to get such visual options into ScummVM and DOSbox!
Please make a Kickstarter for this, thank you!
First off, you don't need any extra account to have local saves, maybe it wasn't implemented back in the day when the first "most useful" comments were made making them not useful anymore. Yes it is repetitive, yes there is almost no story, but this game is about shooting stuff up and f you stick to the Medium difficulty and not baby it on Very Easy you will sweat too. Even though it is gory, kids love it! (Cmon, didn't you play doom when you were little-ish? We played the uncensored Carmageddon and we aren't raging street lunatics.).
The kids expand the map while I focus on collecting missed stuff in already finished maps to buy upgrades which are really handy in later missions.
If you're a casual gamer on a Mac (MB M1 Pro runs it like a champ) and have almost zero options for a good FPS and been eyeing it for a while, don't wait anymore, it's a lot of fun. Sometimes it's on a sale too.
